Which legal companies sponsor E-3 visas in Georgia?
Atlanta-based Am Law 100 and Am Law 200 firms have the most documented E-3 sponsorship activity in Georgia's legal sector, including firms like King & Spalding, Alston & Bird, and Troutman Pepper. Large corporate legal departments at companies headquartered in Georgia also sponsor E-3 holders for in-house counsel roles. Sponsorship history varies by firm and practice group, so verifying Labor Condition Application filings through OFLC records is the most reliable approach.
Which cities in Georgia have the most legal E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta is by far the dominant market for legal E-3 sponsorship jobs in Georgia, home to the state's largest law firms, federal courts, and corporate legal departments. Savannah has a smaller but active legal market tied to its port and maritime industries. Augusta and Columbus have regional firm presence, though E-3 sponsorship opportunities outside Atlanta are considerably less frequent and typically limited to larger regional practices.
What types of legal roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Georgia?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Georgia's legal sector, this includes associate attorney positions, in-house counsel roles, compliance officers, legal analysts, and contract attorneys. Paralegal positions generally do not qualify unless the employer can demonstrate a degree requirement specific to that role. Australian law degrees are typically assessed for U.S. equivalency as part of the application.
How do I find legal E-3 sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for legal jobs in Georgia with verified E-3 sponsorship history, drawing on DOL Labor Condition Application data to show which employers have actually filed for E-3 workers. This is more reliable than filtering general job boards, where sponsorship willingness is often self-reported and unverified. Focus your search on Atlanta-based law firms and corporate legal departments, which account for the large majority of Georgia's legal E-3 filings.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for legal E-3 sponsorship?
Georgia does not impose state-level licensing barriers specific to E-3 holders, but Australian attorneys must still satisfy Georgia Bar admission requirements to practice law independently, which typically involves passing the Georgia Bar exam. Some firms hire Australian lawyers in roles that do not require Georgia Bar admission, such as international law or compliance positions. Georgia's growing tech sector in Atlanta has also increased demand for attorneys with intellectual property and data privacy expertise, areas where Australian candidates are increasingly competitive.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 legal jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
