Which fintech companies in Indiana sponsor H-1B visas?
Indianapolis-based employers are the most active H-1B visa sponsors in Indiana's fintech space. Companies like Salesforce, OneMain Financial, and Genesys have filed H-1B petitions for technology and financial roles in the state. Insurtech firms and payments processors headquartered or with significant operations in Indiana also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as sponsors. Sponsorship activity varies by year and role availability.
Which cities in Indiana have the most fintech H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the overwhelming majority of fintech H-1B sponsorship activity in Indiana. The city hosts the state's largest financial services firms, technology companies, and a growing startup ecosystem centered around the 16 Tech innovation district. Fort Wayne and Bloomington have smaller but active tech employer bases, though dedicated fintech H-1B sponsorship outside Indianapolis is limited by comparison.
What types of fintech roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles that consistently qualify as specialty occupations for H-1B purposes in fintech include software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, quantitative analysts, cybersecurity specialists, and financial systems architects. These positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, mathematics, or financial engineering. Generalist business roles without a clear degree-to-job-title connection are harder to qualify under H-1B specialty occupation standards.
How do I find fintech H-1B sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa-sponsored roles. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface fintech H-1B sponsorship jobs in Indiana directly, without sorting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. Migrate Mate pulls from employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history, making it a more targeted starting point than general job searches for international candidates.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in fintech?
Indiana does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, so federal rules govern the process entirely. One practical consideration is that Indiana's fintech market is smaller than coastal hubs, meaning fewer total H-1B petitions are filed annually. Employers here may have less institutional experience with sponsorship processes, so it can be worth confirming early in the hiring process whether a company has sponsored H-1B workers before and has legal counsel in place to handle petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B fintech jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
