Which medical devices companies in Kansas sponsor H-1B visas?
Kansas-based medical devices employers with H-1B visa sponsorship history include Baxter International (operating former Hill-Rom facilities), Nidec Aved Electronics, and various contract manufacturers and OEMs tied to the Wichita and Kansas City metro areas. Larger national manufacturers with Kansas facilities, such as divisions of Stryker or Medtronic, have also filed H-1B petitions for Kansas-based roles. Sponsorship activity varies by hiring cycle and role type.
Which cities in Kansas have the most medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Wichita is the most active market for medical devices H-1B jobs in Kansas, anchored by its manufacturing infrastructure and proximity to aerospace and medical manufacturing supply chains. The Kansas City metro area, spanning the Kansas-Missouri border, is a second significant hub, particularly for regulatory, quality assurance, and commercial roles. Overland Park and Lenexa, both in the Kansas City metro, have growing life sciences employment clusters.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Kansas?
Roles that regularly qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Kansas medical devices include biomedical engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers working on device design, quality engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, clinical application specialists, and software engineers developing embedded or diagnostic systems. These positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, satisfying the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. General assembly or technician roles without a degree requirement generally do not qualify.
How do I find medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs in Kansas by employer, role type, and location, removing listings from employers with no documented sponsorship history. Rather than manually sorting through general job boards, you can use Migrate Mate to focus on Kansas medical devices employers who have sponsored H-1B petitions before, which meaningfully narrows your search to realistic opportunities.
Are there any Kansas-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in medical devices?
Kansas does not have state-level work authorization requirements that affect H-1B eligibility, but medical devices roles in regulated environments may require additional credentialing or FDA-related compliance experience that employers factor into hiring decisions. Kansas manufacturers filing H-1B petitions must still meet all federal prevailing wage requirements through a certified Labor Condition Application. Candidates should also be aware that Kansas City metro roles may involve employers headquartered in Missouri, with H-1B paperwork reflecting the worksite state.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B medical devices jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
