Which e-commerce companies sponsor H-1B visas in Minnesota?
Target Corporation is the most prominent H-1B visa sponsor in Minnesota's e-commerce sector, with its Minneapolis headquarters housing large digital product, engineering, and supply chain technology teams. Beyond Target, companies like Optum (health e-commerce), Sleep Number, and various Minneapolis-based retail technology firms have filed H-1B petitions. DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data is publicly searchable and shows employer-specific sponsorship history.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most e-commerce H-1B sponsorship jobs?
The Twin Cities metro, specifically Minneapolis and Saint Paul, accounts for the overwhelming majority of e-commerce H-1B sponsorship activity in Minnesota. Minneapolis hosts Target's global headquarters and a dense cluster of retail technology offices. Saint Paul and suburban hubs like Eden Prairie and Bloomington also have e-commerce and logistics employers. Duluth has minimal e-commerce H-1B activity by comparison.
What types of e-commerce roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in e-commerce typically covers specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Qualifying roles commonly include software engineers, data scientists, UX researchers, product managers, digital marketing analysts, and supply chain technology specialists. Generalist customer service or warehouse operations roles rarely qualify, as they don't meet the specialty occupation standard that H-1B requires.
How do I find e-commerce H-1B sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters e-commerce H-1B sponsorship jobs in Minnesota by employer sponsorship history, role type, and location. This saves significant time compared to manually screening job listings. Searching with filters for Minnesota and the e-commerce category on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have actively sponsored H-1B workers in this industry, giving you a more targeted starting point.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for e-commerce H-1B sponsorship?
Minnesota's e-commerce market is heavily anchored by enterprise retail, meaning many H-1B roles exist within large corporate structures rather than early-stage startups. Large employers often have established immigration legal teams, which can make the sponsorship process more straightforward administratively. Minnesota also observes state income tax, and H-1B workers are subject to it, so compensation discussions should account for the state's tax obligations alongside federal requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B e-commerce jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
