Which staffing companies sponsor H-1B visas in Minnesota?
Several staffing and IT consulting firms operating in Minnesota have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship, including Staffware, Mastech Digital, Infosys BPM, and Wipro. Large Minnesota-headquartered employers such as UnitedHealth Group and Optum also sponsor H-1B workers through their internal staffing and workforce solutions divisions. Sponsorship patterns vary by firm size, client contracts, and the specific role being filled.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and St. Paul account for the largest share of staffing H-1B sponsorship activity in Minnesota, driven by a dense concentration of healthcare, financial services, and technology employers. Rochester is a secondary hub, particularly for roles connected to Mayo Clinic's extended vendor and staffing network. Suburban areas like Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Bloomington also generate demand through corporate headquarters and regional offices.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Minnesota?
H-1B sponsorship in the staffing sector is limited to specialty occupation roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In Minnesota, the most common qualifying staffing placements include software developers, data analysts, business analysts, financial consultants, and clinical informatics specialists. General administrative, light industrial, and non-degree staffing placements do not meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship roles, including staffing positions in Minnesota. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface employers with a verified sponsorship history in the staffing sector. Searching through Migrate Mate saves time compared to manually reviewing job postings that rarely confirm sponsorship upfront.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B staffing jobs in Minnesota?
Minnesota does not impose state-level visa requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but staffing agencies placing H-1B workers at third-party client sites must comply with the Department of Labor's worksite requirements, including filing an amended H-1B petition if a worker moves to a new location outside the originally approved metropolitan statistical area. Minnesota's strong healthcare and technology sectors mean many staffing placements involve highly regulated industries with additional credentialing requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
