Search Accounting Jobs in New YorkAccounting Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in New York?
The Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG) are among the most active Green Card sponsors for accounting professionals in New York, particularly for senior auditors, tax managers, and advisory roles. Large financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs also sponsor accountants through PERM labor certification. Regional mid-size CPA firms in New York City occasionally sponsor for specialized roles as well.
Which cities in New York have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
New York City, specifically Manhattan's Midtown and Financial District, concentrates the majority of accounting Green Card sponsorship activity in the state, driven by the density of financial services firms, multinational headquarters, and professional services offices. White Plains and Melville on Long Island have secondary clusters, primarily tied to regional corporate finance and audit functions. Buffalo and Albany offer more limited but consistent sponsorship through public accounting and government contracting firms.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New York?
Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field are the most common Green Card-sponsored positions. These include senior auditors, tax managers, forensic accountants, financial reporting specialists, and controllers. Positions that also require CPA licensure or niche expertise in areas such as international tax, SEC reporting, or financial instruments tend to attract employer-sponsored PERM filings more consistently than entry-level roles.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface visa-sponsored accounting jobs in New York, filtering by Green Card sponsorship so you are not sifting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. You can browse roles by city, seniority level, and accounting specialty, which is particularly useful in a market as large and varied as New York. Searching through Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually vetting employers for sponsorship history.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for accounting Green Card sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under PERM labor certification are benchmarked to Department of Labor wage levels, and Manhattan's high cost of living means prevailing wages for accounting roles are often set at or above Level II and Level III thresholds. New York State also has its own CPA licensure requirements, and some employers prefer or require candidates to hold or be eligible for a New York CPA license, which can affect which roles are structured for sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
