Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in Ohio?
Companies with significant distribution and supply chain operations in Ohio that have sponsored F-1 OPT workers include Cardinal Health (Dublin), AmerisourceBergen, Gordon Food Service, and large e-commerce fulfillment operators such as Amazon and Chewy. Sponsorship patterns tend to concentrate in supply chain, logistics coordination, procurement, and inventory analytics roles rather than warehouse floor positions.
Which cities in Ohio have the most distribution and wholesale F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is the leading market, anchored by Cardinal Health's headquarters and a dense cluster of e-commerce fulfillment centers along the I-70 and I-71 corridors. Cleveland and Cincinnati also have active wholesale and distribution sectors, particularly in industrial goods and food service distribution. Dayton and Toledo see activity tied to automotive parts distribution and regional wholesale operations.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that most commonly qualify are those requiring a directly related bachelor's or master's degree, including supply chain analyst, demand planning analyst, procurement specialist, logistics operations analyst, and inventory management specialist. Positions focused on data analysis, systems coordination, or business operations within a wholesale or distribution context tend to align well with OPT eligibility requirements compared to general warehouse or driver roles.
How do I find distribution and wholesale F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type and industry, so you can search directly for distribution and wholesale roles in Ohio that employers have flagged for F-1 OPT sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings. Using Migrate Mate, you can also compare roles by city across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati to target where hiring activity is strongest.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in distribution and wholesale?
Ohio's concentration of large distribution hubs means many employers are experienced with international hires, but OPT authorization is time-limited, so starting your job search well before your graduation date matters. STEM OPT extension eligibility depends on whether your degree field qualifies, not the industry itself. Roles at larger employers in Columbus or Cincinnati are generally better positioned to support timely onboarding within OPT authorization windows than smaller regional wholesalers.
