Which media & entertainment companies sponsor visas in Ohio?
Key sponsors include Scripps Media (Cincinnati), iHeartMedia's regional operations, and Cleveland's film production studios. Columbus-based advertising agencies and digital media companies also sponsor H-1B visas for creative and technical roles. University media departments at Ohio State and Cincinnati occasionally sponsor J-1 visas for research positions in media technology and broadcasting.
How to find media & entertainment visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international talent with Ohio's media and entertainment employers who sponsor visas. Focus on Cincinnati's broadcast media cluster, Columbus digital agencies, and Cleveland's growing film industry. Target roles in technical production, digital marketing, and broadcast engineering where skills gaps create sponsorship opportunities for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for media & entertainment roles in Ohio?
H-1B visas dominate for technical roles like broadcast engineers, digital media specialists, and production managers. O-1 visas apply to established artists, directors, or media professionals with extraordinary ability. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. J-1 visas occasionally support academic media research positions at major universities.
Which cities in Ohio have the most media & entertainment sponsorship jobs?
Cincinnati leads with major broadcast headquarters and corporate media operations. Columbus follows with digital agencies, advertising firms, and Ohio State's media programs. Cleveland's entertainment district and film incentive programs create production opportunities. Dayton and Akron offer niche opportunities in regional broadcasting and corporate communications for sponsored positions.
What are prevailing wage requirements for media & entertainment positions in Ohio?
Ohio's media wages typically fall below coastal markets but align with Midwest standards. Broadcast engineers and digital producers generally meet H-1B wage thresholds, especially in Cincinnati and Columbus markets. Production roles may require careful wage analysis. University-affiliated positions often qualify for lower prevailing wage levels under academic exemptions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored media & entertainment jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
