Which automotive companies sponsor H-1B visas in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's H-1B visa automotive sponsors include manufacturing operations, engineering consultancies, and fleet-heavy corporations headquartered in the state. Loves Travel Stops and Country Stores, based in Oklahoma City, has filed H-1B petitions for technical roles tied to vehicle maintenance and fleet operations. Tier 1 and Tier 2 auto parts suppliers operating in the Tulsa and OKC metro areas also appear in DOL disclosure data as recurring sponsors for engineering and quality assurance positions.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most automotive H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Tulsa and Oklahoma City account for the majority of automotive H-1B sponsorship activity in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City benefits from its concentration of corporate headquarters, fleet operators, and automotive retail chains with technical staffing needs. Tulsa's industrial base, including manufacturing and aerospace-adjacent automotive suppliers, generates demand for mechanical and electrical engineers. Smaller markets like Norman and Edmond see occasional postings but at much lower volume.
What types of automotive roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the position. In Oklahoma's automotive sector, this typically includes mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing process engineers, quality engineers, and embedded systems or controls engineers. General technician or service advisor roles rarely qualify because they don't consistently require a directly related degree as a minimum entry requirement.
How do I find automotive H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (H-1B), industry (Automotive), and state (Oklahoma) to see active sponsorship-eligible listings without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. Because many Oklahoma automotive employers are mid-size companies rather than household names, using a targeted platform like Migrate Mate helps surface sponsors that general job searches tend to miss.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Oklahoma's automotive industry?
Oklahoma doesn't impose state-level visa requirements, but the local automotive market has characteristics worth understanding. The industry here skews toward fleet operations, oil-and-gas vehicle services, and agricultural equipment manufacturing rather than traditional passenger vehicle assembly. This means H-1B demand is more concentrated in engineering and technical support roles tied to those segments. Employers in Oklahoma's smaller metro areas may have less prior H-1B experience, so confirming an employer's sponsorship history before applying is a practical step.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B automotive jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
