ROLE SUMMARY:
Urban Outfitters is looking for an analytical, collaborative, and strategically minded individual to play a key role in driving our allocation strategies. The Senior Allocator will manage our high-growth business segments, use customer needs and streamlined workflows to maximize sales, margin, in-stock, and sell-thru. As the team's system expert, you will master data flows across multiple platforms, proactively troubleshoot technical issues, and lead training for new and existing talent. Partnering closely with a wide variety of cross-functional teams, you will serve as a prominent "Peer Leader". With regular success in modeling professional standards, translating complex data into actionable insights, and proactively building workflow solutions to support team growth.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet or exceed sales, gross margin and inventory turn goals
- Specializes in high-impact or growth categories, utilizing a high-value class load to drive profit growth
- Exhibits deep expertise in customer & store profiling, ensuring that every distribution decision aligns with broader business strategies and customer needs
- Serves as the team expert for all allocation systems (Excel, IP, MID, Qlik, EDW, 09 etc), with a comprehensive understanding of how data flows between them
- Identifies and resolves allocation pain points and system technicalities before they impact the business
- Confidently present data, insights, and business strategies to leadership, translating complex allocation metrics into actionable business stories
- Acts as the primary driver for collective team growth; identifies knowledge gaps and leads initiatives to elevate the entire department’s performance
- Leads standardized training for new hires to ensure system proficiency and establishing a baseline of technical excellence for all incoming talent
- Support store needs (inventory/replenishment) as they are communicated from our Store Planning partners
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of new store openings
- Visit stores on a regular basis to understand site specific opportunities and customer dynamics
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3+ years in Allocation/Planning/BOPS required
- Expert command of retail math concepts and applications
- Highly skilled in statistical analysis
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment
