Which electronics companies in Pennsylvania have sponsored H-1B visas?
Several Pennsylvania-based employers appear in H-1B visa disclosure data for electronics roles. Vishay Intertechnology, headquartered in Malvern, has filed for electronics engineers. Siemens operates facilities across the state with a history of sponsoring hardware and electrical engineering roles. Lockheed Martin's Pennsylvania sites, particularly in King of Prussia and Moorestown, have also filed H-1B petitions for electronics and systems engineering positions.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs?
The Philadelphia metro area, including suburban counties like Montgomery and Chester, concentrates the highest number of electronics H-1B positions due to its dense cluster of defense contractors, semiconductor firms, and engineering consultancies. Pittsburgh supports electronics roles tied to advanced manufacturing and robotics. The Lehigh Valley, anchored by Allentown and Bethlehem, hosts electronics manufacturers including Vishay's operations and several industrial electronics suppliers.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B eligibility requires the position to be a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field. Electronics roles that commonly meet this standard include hardware design engineers, embedded systems engineers, RF and signal integrity engineers, FPGA developers, printed circuit board design engineers, and semiconductor process engineers. Roles where a non-technical degree would satisfy the requirement face greater scrutiny during adjudication.
How do I find electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface electronics H-1B sponsorship positions in Pennsylvania from employers with verified sponsorship histories. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job postings that rarely disclose visa sponsorship status upfront. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on international candidates, so the listings are pre-filtered for sponsorship relevance.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for electronics H-1B sponsorship?
A meaningful share of Pennsylvania's electronics employers work on defense programs, which can create complications for H-1B workers. Some contracts require security clearances that are generally unavailable to non-U.S. citizens and permanent residents, effectively limiting sponsorship to non-classified roles. Candidates should confirm that a specific position does not carry a clearance requirement before investing time in the application process. This is particularly relevant for employers like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon's Pennsylvania operations.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B electronics jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
