Which hospitality companies sponsor H-2B visas in South Carolina?
Resort operators and hotel groups along the Grand Strand, Hilton Head Island, and Charleston are the most active H-2B petitioners in South Carolina. Brands like Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt have properties in these markets, as do golf resort operators and waterpark complexes. Seasonal amusement and entertainment venues in the Myrtle Beach area also appear in DOL H-2B disclosure data as repeat sponsors.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Myrtle Beach leads the state for H-2B hospitality volume, driven by its concentration of beachfront hotels, resorts, and entertainment venues that depend heavily on seasonal workers. Hilton Head Island is a close second, with luxury golf and beach resorts filing petitions annually. Charleston also generates H-2B demand through its hotel and food service sector, particularly around peak tourist seasons in spring and summer.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in South Carolina?
H-2B hospitality roles in South Carolina typically include housekeeping attendants, hotel front desk staff, food and beverage servers, kitchen workers, landscaping crew for resort grounds, and lifeguards or recreation attendants. These positions must be temporary and tied to a peak season. Employers must demonstrate the need is seasonal or intermittent and that qualified U.S. workers are not available to fill the openings.
How do I find hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international workers seeking visa sponsorship, including H-2B hospitality roles in South Carolina. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface positions at resorts, hotels, and seasonal employers along the Grand Strand, Hilton Head, and Charleston. Because H-2B petitions are employer-driven and time-sensitive, searching Migrate Mate early in the hiring cycle improves your chances of finding open roles.
Are there any South Carolina-specific considerations for H-2B hospitality sponsorship?
South Carolina's H-2B demand is strongly tied to its coastal tourism calendar. Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head employers typically petition for workers arriving in spring ahead of the summer season, and some file a second petition for the fall golf season. Because H-2B has an annual cap, petitions filed closer to the October 1 and April 1 cap periods face more competition, so South Carolina employers generally plan their filings well in advance.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B hospitality jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
