Tips for Finding E-3 Sponsorship Jobs in Tennessee
Focus on Nashville's healthcare corridor
Nashville hosts a dense concentration of hospital systems and health services companies that regularly hire specialty occupation roles. Target employers like HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which have established international hiring infrastructure and familiarity with E-3 sponsorship.
Look beyond Nashville to secondary markets
Knoxville and Chattanooga have active employer bases in engineering, logistics, and manufacturing. Smaller metro areas often have less competition for sponsored roles, and employers there are sometimes more open to discussing sponsorship when the right candidate applies.
Prioritize multinational employers with existing visa programs
Companies already sponsoring H-1B visa workers understand work visa processes and are far more likely to extend that to E-3 applicants. Search Tennessee employers on Migrate Mate to identify which companies have an active sponsorship track record.
Target Tennessee's advanced manufacturing sector strategically
Automotive and aerospace manufacturers operating in Tennessee, including Volkswagen in Chattanooga and suppliers throughout the state, regularly hire engineers and technical specialists. Roles requiring a specific engineering degree are strong E-3 candidates because the specialty occupation link is clear.
Understand which roles in Tennessee meet the specialty occupation standard
E-3 eligibility requires that the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In Tennessee, this applies strongly to nursing, software engineering, finance, and architecture. Roles described as requiring a degree in any field typically do not qualify.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for E-3-friendly Tennessee employers
Browsing general job boards makes it hard to identify which Tennessee employers are open to sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters jobs by visa type and location, so you can focus your applications on Tennessee roles where E-3 sponsorship is a realistic outcome.

What is the prevailing wage for E-3 jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
