Which healthcare companies sponsor E-3 visas in Tennessee?
Tennessee's largest healthcare employers, including HCA Healthcare (headquartered in Nashville), Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Community Health Systems, and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, have histories of sponsoring work visas for qualified international candidates. Academic medical centers and large hospital networks tend to have dedicated HR and immigration infrastructure, making them more likely to support E-3 sponsorship than smaller independent practices.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state by a significant margin, driven by its concentration of hospital networks, health technology companies, and corporate healthcare headquarters. Memphis is the second-largest market, anchored by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Knoxville, home to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, also offers opportunities, particularly in clinical and academic roles. Smaller markets like Chattanooga have a more limited but present set of healthcare employers.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field. In healthcare, registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical laboratory scientists, health informatics specialists, and clinical researchers commonly meet this standard. General care aide or medical assistant roles that don't require a relevant degree typically do not qualify.
How do I find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking U.S. visa sponsorship, including E-3 roles. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface healthcare positions in Tennessee where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job postings, and the platform focuses exclusively on sponsorship-eligible roles, so listings are directly relevant to Australian applicants on the E-3 pathway.
Are there any state-specific considerations for E-3 healthcare sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee requires separate state licensure for most clinical roles, and Australian-trained healthcare professionals will need to verify their credentials meet Tennessee's licensing board requirements before or alongside the E-3 process. For example, internationally trained registered nurses must pass the NCLEX-RN and apply to the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Licensing timelines can extend the overall onboarding process, so coordinating licensure applications with your employer's immigration filing is important.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 healthcare jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
