Which waste management and environmental services companies sponsor H-1B visas in Tennessee?
Companies with documented H-1B visa sponsorship activity in Tennessee's environmental services sector include Clean Harbors, Veolia North America, Arcadis, AECOM, and Stericycle. Municipal solid waste authorities and engineering consulting firms operating in the state also file Labor Condition Applications for environmental engineers, hydrogeologists, and compliance specialists. DOL LCA disclosure data can confirm which employers have active filings.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most waste management and environmental services H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads in H-1B sponsorship activity within this sector, driven by its concentration of environmental consulting firms and growing infrastructure needs. Memphis follows, with industrial waste management operations tied to its logistics and manufacturing base. Knoxville also generates demand, particularly near Oak Ridge, where federal environmental remediation projects attract engineering talent requiring specialty occupation sponsorship.
How do I find waste management and environmental services H-1B sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to search for H-1B-sponsored waste management and environmental services roles in Tennessee. You can narrow results by city, employer, and role type. Cross-referencing employer names against DOL LCA filings through the OFLC Wage Search tool helps confirm which Tennessee-based companies have a documented sponsorship history in this sector.
What types of waste management and environmental services roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Tennessee?
Roles that meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard in this sector generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Qualifying positions in Tennessee commonly include environmental engineers, hydrogeologists, environmental compliance managers, remediation project managers, and chemical engineers working in wastewater or hazardous waste treatment. General operations or equipment-operator roles typically do not meet the degree-requirement threshold for H-1B eligibility.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Tennessee's environmental sector?
Tennessee's environmental services sector is shaped partly by proximity to federal sites like Oak Ridge National Laboratory and TVA facilities, which generate ongoing demand for remediation and environmental engineering professionals. Employers working on federally contracted environmental cleanup projects may have additional compliance obligations. Candidates should confirm that prospective Tennessee employers are enrolled in E-Verify, as federal contractors are generally required to participate, which affects the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B waste management & environmental services jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
