Which hospitality companies sponsor H-1B visas in Tennessee?
Large hotel operators and hospitality management groups with Tennessee properties are the most consistent H-1B sponsors in this industry. Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, and Ryman Hospitality Properties (which operates Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville) have filed H-1B petitions for hospitality roles. Corporate-managed properties are far more likely to sponsor than independently owned hotels, as they have established HR and legal infrastructure for navigating the petition process.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state by a significant margin, driven by its large convention hotel market, a booming tourism sector, and major properties like Gaylord Opryland and the downtown Omni. Memphis has sponsorship activity tied to its hotel and casino-adjacent hospitality venues. Knoxville and Gatlinburg see smaller volumes but have resort and hotel operations that occasionally sponsor specialized management roles.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in hospitality is generally limited to specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Roles that commonly meet this threshold include food and beverage managers, revenue managers, hotel general managers with hospitality management degrees, event operations managers, and culinary directors with formal culinary or business education. Front-of-house or hourly positions do not qualify, as they typically do not require a specific bachelor's degree.
How do I find hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking H-1B sponsorship roles, including hospitality positions in Tennessee. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface verified sponsorship opportunities at Tennessee properties. Because H-1B sponsorship in hospitality is concentrated among larger hotel brands and management companies, focusing your search on corporate-managed properties in Nashville and Memphis will yield the most relevant results on Migrate Mate.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in hospitality?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects total compensation comparisons for internationally hired workers. More relevant to sponsorship: Nashville's rapid hotel development over the past decade has created consistent demand for experienced hospitality managers, making it one of the more active secondary markets for H-1B filings outside coastal cities. Candidates should be aware that seasonal resort markets like Gatlinburg involve fluctuating staffing needs, which can complicate the continuous full-time employment requirement the H-1B category requires.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B hospitality jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
