Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled CMM Programmer to act as the technical architect of our measurement and quality control processes. In this role, you aren't just loading parts and running existing programs—you are building them from the ground up using PC-DMIS. You will be responsible for measuring and programming a variety of complex products, including metal stampings, weldments, and full assemblies, ensuring they meet exact customer specifications.
You will own the calibration of all check fixtures and measuring devices, acting as the definitive authority on tooling and part accuracy. We are looking for someone who takes pride in disciplined adherence to process, actively contributes to continuous improvement, and can communicate complex quality data to both the production team and management. If you are a GD&T expert who excels at problem-solving and writing robust, repeatable CMM programs, we want you on our team.
Compensation
- $28 - $32 / hr
Responsibilities
CMM Programming & Precision Layout
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot CMM programs from scratch utilizing PC-DMIS software.
- Perform comprehensive product layouts on stampings, weldments, and assemblies.
- Perform all PPAP capability studies, sample layouts, and scribe/save master samples for all production jobs.
- Perform tooling layouts for compliance and facilitate buyoffs when necessary.
Calibration & Gage Management
- Own the calibration process: Annually perform check fixture calibration and layout on all existing production check fixtures, models, and templates.
- Perform rigorous certification of all new check fixtures and models before they hit the floor.
- Perform internal calibration of all hand-held tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.).
- Manage testing equipment calibration requirements and seamlessly coordinate external certifications with outside vendors.
Quality Assurance & Problem Solving
- Perform Gage R&R studies to validate measurement systems.
- Support the production and quality departments by providing accurate, data-backed insights to solve manufacturing problems on the floor.
- Maintain all inspection layout files in a highly organized and orderly fashion.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and execute additional quality duties as determined by the Quality Manager.
Requirements Qualifications
- Experience & Tech Stack: Proven experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS software is required. High school diploma or GED required (additional related experience, training, or technical education is highly preferred).
- GD&T Mastery: Expert ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and deeply understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Math & Statistics: Strong mathematical aptitude, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Knowledge and utilization of statistical techniques.
- Problem Solving: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions (written, oral, or diagrammatic) and troubleshoot problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Communication & Mindset: You must be able to communicate effectively and coordinate with other departments (like production and engineering). Demonstrates a strong personal commitment to disciplined processes and procedures.

Which staffing companies in Tennessee sponsor H-1B visas?
Large national staffing firms with Tennessee operations, including Randstad, ManpowerGroup, and Allegis Group, have H-1B sponsorship histories documented in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. Regional staffing companies focused on healthcare and IT workforce solutions in Nashville and Memphis have also filed H-1B petitions. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case and depend on the specific role, business need, and employer resources.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Nashville is Tennessee's primary market for staffing H-1B roles, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, corporate headquarters, and a growing tech sector. Memphis supports staffing demand tied to logistics, supply chain, and healthcare. Knoxville and Chattanooga have smaller but active markets, particularly around manufacturing and engineering workforce solutions, where specialized recruiting roles can qualify for H-1B sponsorship.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Tennessee?
H-1B sponsorship in the staffing industry generally applies to roles classified as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In Tennessee, qualifying roles most commonly include technical recruiters with IT or engineering backgrounds, workforce analytics specialists, HRIS consultants, and data analysts placed within staffing operations. General recruiting or sales roles without a degree requirement in a specific discipline are unlikely to qualify.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, including H-1B, and by industry. Searching Migrate Mate for staffing and recruiting roles in Tennessee lets you focus on employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness, saving time compared to reviewing general job listings without sponsorship context. You can also filter by city to target Nashville, Memphis, or Knoxville specifically.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Tennessee's staffing industry?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which can affect total compensation comparisons but has no direct impact on H-1B eligibility or sponsorship requirements. Staffing firms in Tennessee that place H-1B workers at third-party client sites must comply with Department of Labor rules on worksite wage compliance and must file a new Labor Condition Application if the work location changes significantly. This is particularly relevant in staffing, where worker placement is common.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
