Which accounting companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in Utah?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young, and KPMG, maintain Utah offices and have established records of hiring F-1 OPT candidates in accounting roles. Regional firms such as Squire & Company, Tanner LLC, and Haynie & Company also hire international graduates. Technology-sector companies headquartered along the Wasatch Front with internal accounting teams are additional sources of OPT sponsorship in the state.
Which cities in Utah have the most accounting F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City holds the highest concentration of accounting sponsorship opportunities in Utah, driven by its status as the state's commercial hub and home to major firm offices. Provo and the broader Utah County corridor follow closely, supported by a dense cluster of tech companies requiring accounting staff. Ogden and St. George represent smaller but growing markets, particularly for roles in regional banking and healthcare finance.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles most commonly associated with F-1 OPT sponsorship in accounting include public accounting positions such as audit associate, tax associate, and assurance analyst, as well as corporate roles like staff accountant, financial analyst, and internal auditor. These positions generally require a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a related field, aligning with the specialty occupation standard that supports subsequent H-1B visa sponsorship after OPT concludes.
How do I find accounting F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students seeking F-1 OPT sponsorship, and lets you filter accounting jobs in Utah by employers with verified sponsorship activity. Because OPT authorization is time-sensitive, targeting firms with documented H-1B or LCA filing history in accounting reduces the risk of pursuing roles where sponsorship is uncertain. Migrate Mate surfaces that employer history so you can focus your applications on companies already familiar with the OPT-to-H-1B pathway.
Are there any state-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in Utah's accounting industry?
Utah's accounting job market benefits from the state's consistent ranking among the fastest-growing economies in the country, which sustains employer demand for accounting professionals including OPT candidates. Utah does not impose state-level restrictions on OPT employment beyond federal requirements. CPA licensure in Utah requires 150 credit hours, so international students pursuing licensure alongside OPT employment should confirm their academic credits meet Utah's State Board of Accountancy requirements before beginning the application process.
