Which accounting companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in Oregon?
In Oregon, the Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, maintain Portland offices and have documented histories of hiring F-1 OPT candidates. Regional firms such as Moss Adams and Perkins & Co also hire international graduates. Many mid-size Oregon companies with in-house accounting teams file Labor Condition Applications and support OPT workers, particularly in the tech-adjacent Portland metro market.
Which cities in Oregon have the most accounting F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Portland is Oregon's primary hub for accounting OPT sponsorship, home to the state's largest concentration of CPA firms, corporate finance departments, and financial services employers. Eugene hosts accounting opportunities tied to the University of Oregon ecosystem and regional businesses. Bend and Salem offer a smaller but growing number of positions, particularly as remote-friendly employers expand their Oregon footprints.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include staff accountant, audit associate, tax associate, financial analyst, and accounts payable or receivable specialist. These positions align well with O*NET-recognized specialty occupation criteria because they require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Managerial accounting, forensic accounting, and cost accounting roles at larger Oregon employers also commonly appear in OPT-sponsored hiring cycles.
How do I find accounting F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for F-1 OPT-compatible accounting roles in Oregon, letting you search by city, employer type, and role. Because Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application filing data, you can verify which Oregon employers have an actual history of sponsoring international candidates rather than relying on job postings alone. This makes it easier to focus your applications on firms with confirmed sponsorship track records in accounting.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 OPT accounting jobs in Oregon?
Oregon has no state-level licensing requirement that blocks F-1 OPT candidates from working as accounting associates, though the CPA credential requires meeting Oregon Board of Accountancy education and exam requirements before licensure. OPT candidates in public accounting should confirm their employer's E-Verify enrollment, as STEM OPT extensions require E-Verify-enrolled sponsors. Oregon's mix of public accounting firms and tech-company finance teams gives OPT candidates multiple sponsorship pathways beyond traditional Big Four placements.
