Which food & beverage companies sponsor visas in Utah?
Major sponsors include JBS USA (one of the largest meat processors), Kroger distribution centers, Arctic Circle restaurants, and craft breweries like Epic Brewing and Uinta Brewing. Resort properties in Park City and Deer Valley also sponsor chefs and hospitality professionals, particularly for seasonal H-2B positions and specialized culinary roles requiring H-1B status.
Which visa types are most common for food & beverage roles in Utah?
H-2B visas dominate for seasonal resort positions in Park City and ski areas, while H-1B visas are used for food scientists, quality assurance managers, and specialized production roles at major processors. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican professionals in management positions, and O-1 visas occasionally apply for renowned chefs at high-end establishments.
How to find food & beverage visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international professionals with Utah food and beverage employers who sponsor visas. Focus on Salt Lake City's restaurant scene, Park City's resort dining, and food production facilities in northern Utah. Target companies with established H-1B and H-2B filing histories, particularly during ski season hiring periods from October through December.
Which cities in Utah have the most food & beverage sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City leads with its diverse restaurant scene and food distribution centers, followed by Park City for seasonal resort positions requiring international talent. Provo benefits from university dining operations, while smaller cities like Hyrum and Logan host major food processing facilities that regularly sponsor technical and management positions for international workers.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for food & beverage roles in Utah?
Utah's cost of living advantage helps international workers, but prevailing wages vary significantly by role and location. Resort positions in Park City command higher wages than similar roles in rural areas. Food scientists and quality managers typically meet H-1B prevailing wage requirements more easily than entry-level positions, making specialized technical roles more viable for visa sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food & beverage jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
