Which hospitality companies sponsor visas in Vermont?
Stowe Mountain Resort, Killington Resort, and other Vail Resorts properties are among the largest hospitality visa sponsors in Vermont. The Omni Mount Washington Resort, Trapp Family Lodge, and various boutique ski lodges also sponsor H-2B visas for seasonal positions. Burlington's larger hotels and farm-to-table restaurants occasionally sponsor J-1 visas for international hospitality trainees.
How to find hospitality visa sponsorship jobs in Vermont?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international workers with Vermont hospitality employers who sponsor visas. The platform filters jobs by location and visa sponsorship status, making it easier to identify ski resorts, hotels, and restaurants in Vermont that actively hire international workers. Focus on seasonal resort positions and Burlington-area establishments for the best sponsorship opportunities.
Which visa types are most common for hospitality roles in Vermont?
H-2B visas dominate Vermont's hospitality sector, especially for seasonal positions at ski resorts and summer tourism destinations. J-1 visas are common for international hospitality management trainees at larger resorts and hotels. H-1B sponsorship is rare but occasionally available for specialized roles like hotel general managers or resort operations directors with specific expertise.
Which cities in Vermont have the most hospitality sponsorship jobs?
Stowe leads Vermont in hospitality visa sponsorship due to its concentration of luxury ski resorts and year-round tourism infrastructure. Burlington offers opportunities at hotels and restaurants serving the university and business communities. Killington, Warren, and Manchester also provide seasonal sponsorship positions at ski resorts and associated hospitality businesses during winter months.
What are Vermont's prevailing wages for sponsored hospitality positions?
Vermont's Department of Labor sets prevailing wages for hospitality positions that vary by location and season. Ski resort areas like Stowe and Killington typically have higher prevailing wages than rural areas due to tourism demand. H-2B positions must meet these wage requirements, and employers often provide housing to help workers afford Vermont's higher cost of living in resort communities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitality jobs in Vermont?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
