Get to know Okta
Okta is The World’s Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral products, Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform, provide secure access, authentication, and automation, placing identity at the core of business security and growth.
At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we’re looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences.
Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.
Staff Product Marketing Manager, Identity Security
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Marketing, this role is a critical lead in Okta’s security journey. We are looking for a Staff Product Marketing Manager who will help tell Okta’s security story in a compelling, cohesive, and relevant way. Your goal is to elevate Okta’s foundational access technologies from a utility to a strategic security imperative, evangelizing the need for identity-centric security in an AI-driven threat landscape.
The ideal candidate will be a unique blend of technologist and business strategist—someone who can dive deep into technical architecture while crafting portfolio-level value propositions that resonate with both CISOs and practitioners. Beyond strategy and content, you must be a self-motivated, execution-oriented individual who stays focused on delivering outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Identity Security GTM Strategy: Build and execute the go-to-market strategy for Okta’s foundational access and authentication platform. You will define how core authentication, adaptive policy, and recovery flows serve as the first line of defense against modern identity-based attacks.
- Technical Evangelism & Demos: Move beyond high-level messaging to create "show-not-tell" technical content. You will be responsible for building and delivering product demonstrations, technical reference architectures, and briefs that prove Okta’s security value to technical buyers.
- Security Storytelling: Own the messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation for our core access technologies. You must take "under-the-hood" technology and turn it into a simple, urgent, and business-focused story that highlights resilience and risk mitigation.
- AI-Driven Identity Leadership: Define the strategy for securing the new wave of AI. This includes establishing Okta's point of view on managing AI agents as identities and ensuring the access layer is hardened for an automated, high-velocity threat landscape.
- Cross-Functional Activation: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to build technical buyer-focused assets—including technical comparisons, FAQs, and field enablement materials—specifically designed for the Global 2000.
- Analyst & Industry Presence: Represent Okta at security events to raise our profile and establish a unique POV. Engage with analysts to ensure Okta’s foundational security capabilities are recognized as the core of a modern security posture.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Domain Expertise: 8+ years of experience as a product marketer or product manager in cybersecurity or identity management (IAM, AD, or Entra ID). You know who the players are, where the gaps lie, and how to win.
- Hands-on Technical Proficiency: A technologist at heart. You must have a track record of supporting technical evaluations, and you must be comfortable configuring and demoing the product to technical buyers.
- Execution-Oriented Storytelling: Proven ability to take "under-the-hood" technology and turn it into an emotional and urgent business story. You know how to rise above the noise and create a sense of urgency.
- Strategic Integration: An understanding of how foundational identity signals (like MFA and policy) feed into broader security outcomes like threat detection and incident response.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience managing senior stakeholders with differing priorities and a high sense of urgency to drive end-to-end GTM initiatives.
Extra Credit if you have:
- CS Degree or a strong technical background in systems architecture or engineering.
- Deep experience with modern identity protocols and securing hybrid environments (Cloud and On-Premises).
- Experience in the AI space, specifically regarding the security implications of LLMs and agentic workflows.

Which cybersecurity companies sponsor H-1B visas in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and T-Mobile are among the most active H-1B sponsors in Washington with recurring filings for cybersecurity roles. Beyond those, Boeing and Leidos maintain significant security teams in the state, and a range of mid-size cloud security and managed detection firms headquartered in Seattle and Bellevue also file H-1B petitions for technical security positions.
Which cities in Washington have the most cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Redmond account for the highest concentration of cybersecurity H-1B roles in Washington, driven by the headquarters of major tech companies. Bellevue and Kirkland are close behind, with growing security engineering teams at both established firms and funded startups. Renton and the broader Puget Sound corridor also have demand through aerospace and defense contractors with cleared and uncleared security positions.
What types of cybersecurity roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include security engineer, cloud security architect, penetration tester, threat intelligence analyst, identity and access management engineer, and security operations center analyst. These positions typically require at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a directly related field, which satisfies the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Generalist IT support roles without a specific degree requirement are less likely to qualify.
How do I find cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface cybersecurity roles in Washington where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job postings that rarely disclose sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on international candidates, so the listings are curated for H-1B eligibility.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for cybersecurity H-1B sponsorship?
Washington has a high proportion of cybersecurity roles tied to federal contracts and defense work, which can affect sponsorship. Some cleared positions require U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and are not accessible on H-1B status. Roles at commercial tech companies in Seattle and Bellevue generally have no such restrictions. Washington state also has no personal income tax, which is relevant context when evaluating offers but does not affect H-1B eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B cybersecurity jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
