Production Supervisor
We are looking for a Production Supervisor for our Mequon, WI facility. In this role you will be accountable for production activities by scheduling tasks, supervising resources, supervising workflows, and ensuring production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety procedures are followed. Key responsibilities include coordinating schedules, supervising staff, analyzing production data for improvements, collaborating with other departments, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing production schedules based on firm and/or forecasted customer demands to meet their requirements. It is expected that the position will interact with customers to clarify demand, request demand changes based on available production capacity, negotiate delivery schedules and provide needed customer service.
- Oversee the allocation of personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient and effective use throughout the production process.
- Provide daily supervisory guidance to hourly production staff to meet Oerlikon’s customer demands, Oerlikon’s productivity and quality goals.
- Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
- Promote the utilization of LEAN tools such as Kanban, Visual Management, Point of Use storage, Kaizen or others in support of Oerlikon Operational Excellence (OOE).
- Lead, train, and coach the production team, promoting a positive work environment and ensuring adherence to safety policies and best practices.
- Track production progress, identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to streamline workflow.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring data integrity in SAP, LabView (when applicable) and other Company information systems for all products in all process phases including raw material, work in process and finished goods.
- Provide support to maintain Materials control, including material receipt, material identification, material movement, material storage, material cycle count process (when applicable) and material physical inventory process.
- Coordinate material and supply deliveries with Corporate Procurement and suppliers (when applicable) to ensure that adequate materials are available.
Your Profile:
- High school degree or GED (College Degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of MRP systems, (SAP preferred) particularly modules related to Demand Management, Production Planning, MRP, Material Management and Control.
- Strong level of computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Supports, promotes, and performs in a manner consistent with the values and success statements of Oerlikon, which includes following all company policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
- Incumbent should be detail oriented with good prioritization, possess high problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Heighten sense of accountability with a positive attitude and drive for execution.
- Demonstrate ability to lead people and get results through hands-on leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong team player.
