Which fashion and apparel companies in Wisconsin typically sponsor work visas?
Kohl's Corporation in Menomonee Falls is Wisconsin's largest fashion employer and has sponsored H-1B visas for roles in merchandising, supply chain analytics, and e-commerce technology. Lands' End in Dodgeville sponsors visas for technical positions including data science and digital marketing. Smaller Wisconsin fashion brands occasionally sponsor for specialized roles like textile engineering or international business development.
What visa types are most common for fashion and apparel jobs in Wisconsin?
H-1B visas dominate for professional roles in fashion merchandising, supply chain analysis, and e-commerce technology at companies like Kohl's. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying roles like computer systems analysts supporting fashion retail platforms. L-1 visas are used by international fashion companies transferring employees to Wisconsin operations, though less common than H-1B.
How to find fashion & apparel visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Start with Migrate Mate, which filters Wisconsin fashion and apparel positions by visa sponsorship history and includes salary data. Focus on Milwaukee and Madison for the highest concentration of opportunities, particularly at major retailers and their corporate headquarters. Wisconsin's fashion industry heavily emphasizes technical roles in merchandising analytics, supply chain optimization, and digital commerce platforms.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most fashion and apparel visa sponsorship opportunities?
Milwaukee leads with corporate headquarters and emerging fashion startups, while Menomonee Falls hosts Kohl's major operations. Madison offers opportunities at growing fashion tech companies and university-connected ventures. Dodgeville, despite its small size, provides specialized roles at Lands' End. Green Bay and Appleton have smaller fashion retail operations with occasional sponsorship opportunities.
Are prevailing wages for fashion jobs in Wisconsin competitive for visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin fashion positions generally meet H-1B prevailing wage requirements, especially in Milwaukee and Madison metro areas. Technical roles in merchandising analytics, supply chain management, and e-commerce development typically exceed minimum wage thresholds. However, entry-level design positions may fall below sponsorship wage requirements, making technical and analytical roles more viable for visa sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored fashion & apparel jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
