POSITION PURPOSE
To ensure that project leads that come into the Service Department are designed, estimated and sold in a timely fashion and are completed at or under planned costs. To develop new customer contacts on an ongoing basis.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify prospects in assigned market. Promptly follow up on leads and referrals. Establish customer rapport and identify needs. Maintain an active backlog of quotes to ensure booking goal is consistently met.
- Plan and efficiently schedule appointments and manage personal time to assure maximum productivity. Continually utilize and maintain CRM tool.
- Qualify prospects, identify project solutions, estimate costs, make effective sales presentations, and answer questions and objections in a proficient and responsible manner. Aggressively manage quotes and close sales.
- Survey mechanical systems. Understand prospect’s needs and problems. Determine repair, modification and/or replacement requirements to provide prospects with solutions to problems. Interpret drawings, equipment and job conditions.
- Interacts with all divisions for cross selling opportunities.
- Add value to the customers by proactively looking for ways to save energy and forecast equipment replacement needs.
- Handle maintenance agreement customers and key accounts as assigned.
- Public relations – entertain and build relationships with current customers.
- Support customer’s regulatory compliance needs through personal knowledge and through the Bassett PSM department.
- Stay current on mechanical systems, appropriate codes and industry standards.
- Act as a technical resource in support of service technicians as well as sales team.
- Establish relationships with vendors to obtain pricing, delivery and technical information as needed.
- Establish and follow through on a personal and professional development plan.
- Support and maintain a Lean work environment.
- Other duties as assigned/needed.
SUMMARY OF SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Good technical knowledge and experience in refrigeration.
- Minimum two-year technical school degree in refrigeration a plus.
- Strong interest in technical sales.
- Strong communication, organization and supervisory skills.
- Proven sales/customer relations skills.
- Physical ability to access job sites, including some climbing.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed.
