Concierge Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Concierge roles at hotels, resorts, and private clubs can qualify for H-1B visa or EB-3 visa sponsorship when employers document the position's specialized service requirements. Properties with international guest portfolios sponsor most consistently, and union-affiliated luxury hotels often have established filing pipelines. Document your multilingual guest service credentials
Gather written proof of language proficiency and culturally specific hospitality training before applying. Employers filing an LCA need evidence that your skills justify the specialty occupation classification over a generalist hire.
Target luxury and resort properties with international programs
Full-service hotels catering to international business travelers and five-star resorts with global clientele file LCAs far more regularly than budget or mid-scale properties. Filter your search on Migrate Mate to surface employers with active sponsorship history.
Verify the prevailing wage tier before accepting an offer
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your SOC code and work location. Offers below the Level I or Level II threshold will fail the DOL's LCA certification, stalling your petition before it reaches USCIS.
Ask HR explicitly about their PERM or nonimmigrant filing process
Many hotel chains have in-house immigration counsel but only activate sponsorship after a trial period. Ask during the offer stage whether the property has filed PERM or H-1B petitions for concierge roles specifically, not just for management.
Build a portfolio of specialized service certifications
Certifications such as Les Clefs d'Or membership or formal butler and estate management credentials strengthen a specialty occupation argument. USCIS adjudicators look for evidence that the role requires knowledge beyond standard front-desk training.
Confirm the employer is enrolled in E-Verify before your start date
STEM OPT extensions require E-Verify enrollment from day one. Even for standard OPT, confirming enrollment early prevents a compliance gap if your authorization category changes during employment at the property.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a concierge role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B sponsorship?
It can, but it requires careful documentation. USCIS evaluates whether the specific position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. A standard front-desk concierge rarely qualifies, but a role tied to cultural programming, luxury brand standards, or international client relations with a hospitality or language degree attached has a stronger case. The job description language matters significantly.
Which visa categories do concierge workers typically get sponsored under?
EB-3 unskilled or skilled worker classifications are the most common pathway for concierge roles that don't meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Some luxury properties with documented international client needs have successfully filed H-1B petitions. TN visa status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying professional roles, though concierge positions rarely meet the TN occupation list without a specific professional category match.
Do I need a hospitality degree to get a concierge job sponsored?
Not always, but a relevant degree strengthens the petition considerably. For H-1B, USCIS expects either a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, tourism, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience. For EB-3 sponsorship, degree requirements are lower, but your employer still needs to complete PERM labor certification showing no qualified U.S. worker was available. O*NET lists concierge under the accommodation category, which informs how DOL evaluates the role.
How do I find hotels and resorts that have sponsored concierge workers before?
DOL LCA disclosure data is publicly available and shows which employers have filed labor condition applications for specific job titles and locations. Searching by SOC code for concierge and front desk roles reveals which properties have an active sponsorship track record. Migrate Mate surfaces this employer data so you can target properties already familiar with the filing process rather than educating a reluctant HR team from scratch.
Can my concierge employer sponsor me for a green card while I'm on a work visa?
Yes, through the PERM labor certification process under EB-3. Your employer must advertise the position, demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker applied, and file with DOL before submitting the I-140 immigrant petition. For concierge roles classified as unskilled under EB-3, priority date backlogs can be significant depending on your country of birth. Starting PERM early in your nonimmigrant status gives you the most runway.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Concierge jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
