VP Finance Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp finance in Wisconsin?
Most vp finance roles in Wisconsin require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with an MBA increasingly expected at larger employers. While Wisconsin does not require a state license to hold the title, earning a CPA through the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board or a CFA designation significantly strengthens candidacy. Candidates typically progress through senior finance manager or director roles before reaching the vp level at Wisconsin institutions.
Which companies hire vp finances in Wisconsin?
Companies currently hiring vp finances in Wisconsin include Aspirus Health, Michels, and Andis Company, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Wisconsin's concentration of insurance carriers, regional manufacturers, and large health systems means demand is broad across multiple industries rather than limited to a single sector.
Which Wisconsin cities have the most vp finance jobs?
Wausau, Neenah, and Madison lead Wisconsin for vp finance openings, driven primarily by the concentration of corporate headquarters, regional bank offices, insurance firms, and major health systems in those metros. Milwaukee's deep financial services and manufacturing base accounts for the largest share, while Madison benefits from its growing technology sector and the presence of large state institutions and insurance companies.
How can I get hired as a vp finance in Wisconsin with little or no experience?
The most realistic path into vp finance for candidates early in their careers is through a financial analyst or senior accountant role at a large Wisconsin employer such as a regional bank, insurance carrier, or manufacturer, then building toward a finance manager or director position. Northwestern Mutual, Wisconsin-based regional banks, and large health systems like UW Health run structured finance rotational or development programs that accelerate the progression. Earning a CPA or pursuing an MBA from a University of Wisconsin institution adds measurable credibility and is referenced frequently in Wisconsin postings.
Where can I find and apply to vp finance jobs in Wisconsin?
