About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Division President, the Vice President of Operations, Home Health is responsible for driving operational excellence, clinical performance, and sustainable growth across a multi-state portfolio of home health programs. This leader translates Compassus’ strategic priorities into operational execution, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, strong financial performance, regulatory compliance, and outstanding experience for team members, patients, and referral partners.
As a key member of the Home Health leadership team, the Vice President partners closely with regional and market leaders, Clinical Services, Growth, Finance, People, Quality, and other shared service functions to achieve organizational goals. The role provides strategic direction, coaching, and accountability to operational leaders while identifying opportunities to improve performance, standardize best practices, and accelerate growth in existing and emerging markets.
The scope of this position directly impacts Compassus’ ability to expand access to care, strengthen market leadership, and deliver on its mission of transforming lives through person-centered care where people live. Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership and Performance
- Lead the operational performance of a multi-state home health portfolio, ensuring achievement of clinical, financial, growth, and people-related objectives.
- Direct regional and market leaders in executing strategic priorities, operational initiatives, and performance improvement plans.
- Establish operational standards, best practices, and accountability measures to drive consistency and excellence across all locations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps and accelerate results.
- Champion a culture of operational discipline, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
Growth and Market Expansion
- Drive sustainable census growth through collaboration with Growth, Clinical, and Operations leaders.
- Partner with growth teams to strengthen referral relationships, improve market share, and expand access to care.
- Evaluate market opportunities and support the integration and optimization of acquisitions, joint ventures, and de novo locations.
- Identify operational barriers to growth and implement strategies that improve patient access, capacity, and service delivery and quality.
- Align operational priorities with enterprise growth objectives and long-term strategic plans.
Clinical Quality, Compliance, and Patient Experience
- Ensure operational compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and payer requirements governing home health services.
- Partner with clinical leadership to improve quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and clinical performance measures.
- Monitor quality, risk, and regulatory metrics and lead action plans to address identified concerns.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and patient-centered care across all operational teams.
- Support initiatives that improve care coordination, reduce avoidable hospitalizations, and enhance patient outcomes.
Financial Stewardship and Business Management
- Oversee financial performance, including revenue growth, expense management, productivity, and profitability.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that achieve budgeted financial targets and long-term sustainability goals.
