Summary
At Yelp, our mission is to connect people with great local businesses. We’re seeking a VP of Product Management, Monetization to lead product strategy, vision and execution for overall Yelp monetization. Reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer, you'll oversee how Yelp monetizes, ensuring ad products and platform systems work together across all consumer-facing experiences to deliver value to both sides of the marketplace.
In this senior product leadership role, you’ll inspire and develop exceptional talent, push the state of the art on an industry leading Ad system, set a high bar for product quality, and collaborate with partners across Consumer and Ads Engineering, data science, search relevance, and revenue.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we balance the trade-offs between monetization, business value, and maintaining a delightful user experience. You'll be the voice of our advertisers, from the single-location coffee shop to the multi-location enterprise, ensuring we grow revenue without compromising the quality of the experience for consumers or the businesses we serve.
This role sits at the intersection of product, revenue, data and engineering. It requires a player-coach leader who can engage cross-functional teams to build ad products that drive revenue while enhancing the overall user experience. You'll take the time to deeply understand our local marketplace and customer dynamics before driving change.
We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. This is a full-time remote role based in the United States.
What you'll do:
- Unify the larger organization across Product, Engineering, Operations, and GTM teams under a single vision, increasing momentum of innovation and driving alignment as a player-coach who leads strategically while remaining hands-on in solving complex challenges.
- Set the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for monetization products and platform - aligned with company revenue, advertiser value, and consumer and business experience goals.
- Lead and develop PMs; build strong partnerships with engineering, design, data science, and revenue teams to ensure effective delivery, resourcing, and cross-org alignment.
- Prioritize product investments across competing roadmaps with clear business cases - balancing short-term revenue, long-term user trust, business value, and execution risks.
- Drive improvements to sponsored results, ad delivery and reporting, creative optimization, and ad load/placement strategy including direct ownership of Ads auction and bidding teams.
- Raise performance and engagement on business pages; enhance how ads and organic results work together on the SERP (with Adaptive SERP and relevance partners).
- Build trusted partnerships with Search Quality, Yelp Assistant, and Ads/ML teams where consumer entry points, monetization, and relevance intersect.
What it takes to succeed:
- Ability to navigate executive stakeholders with strong, sometimes competing opinions, and drive cohesive forward movement.
- You are a thoughtful, strategic product leader. You plan 12-24 months out, mentoring and developing PMs into better product thinkers, and empowering your team to succeed autonomously.
- Proven track record of building and launching innovative ad products or monetization features at scale, within auction-based systems (not just operating existing systems).
- You bring deep, hands-on experience with advertising products — not just familiarity, but the kind of understanding that comes from having lived the trade-offs. You know how auction mechanics affect the consumer experience. You understand why advertiser controls matter and where they create unintended consequences. You've navigated the tension between short-term revenue optimization and long-term user trust, and you have strong instincts about where to draw the line.
- You’re experienced with revenue-generating products backed by clear business metrics, and you actively collaborate with finance and revenue partners.
- You have proven ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives across engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market and communicate effectively at the executive level.
- Familiarity with consumer marketplaces or local discovery and how search UX and ads interact with organic results is strongly preferred.
What you'll get:
- Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental
- 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday
- Up to 14 weeks of parental leave
- Monthly wellness subsidy
- Work from home reimbursement
- Flexible spending account
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Employee stock purchase plan
- Compensation range for this position is $300,000 - $400,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.

Tips for Your VP Product Job Search
Quantify product impact on your resume
Hiring panels for vp product roles expect metrics tied to outcomes you owned: revenue influenced, retention lifted, or activation rates improved after a specific initiative. Vague statements about leading roadmaps or managing teams won't clear the first screen.
Show a product thesis in your portfolio
Bring a concise document or deck that explains how you think about prioritization, discovery, and tradeoffs. VPs are expected to set strategy, not just execute it, so demonstrating your reasoning framework separates you from candidates who only show shipped features.
Target companies at the right growth stage
A vp product role at a Series B startup requires a different posture than the same title at a public company. Align your search to stages where your experience matches: early-stage if you've built zero-to-one, and growth or enterprise if your background is scaling.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists vp product openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a product critique for interviews
Most vp product interview loops include a live product teardown or case. Practice critiquing a product you don't use every day, covering the likely user, core job-to-be-done, and two concrete improvements with a rationale for prioritization order.
Negotiate scope alongside compensation
At the VP level, reporting structure, team size, and budget authority matter as much as base pay. Before accepting an offer, confirm which functions report to you, whether you have hiring headcount, and how roadmap decisions get approved at the executive level.
VP Product Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most vp products?
The companies hiring the most vp products right now include JPMorganChase, BNY, and icapital, with the largest share of openings in New York, California, and New Jersey, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Demand is consistently strong in SaaS, fintech, and healthtech across both startup and enterprise employers.
How many vp product jobs are remote?
About 52% of vp product openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed senior product leadership has become. Platform, data, and growth product roles tend to skew most remote, while consumer hardware and in-store experience roles more often require an on-site presence.
How do you become a vp product?
Most vp product roles require a progression through individual-contributor product management, then a group product manager or director role where you lead other PMs. Building a record of shipping high-impact products, developing junior talent, and influencing cross-functional strategy puts you on the path. Visibility in the product community through writing or speaking also accelerates promotion consideration.
Can you get hired as a vp product with limited leadership experience?
It's possible if you can demonstrate informal leadership in your current role, such as driving alignment across multiple product teams, setting org-wide prioritization standards, or mentoring senior PMs without a formal management title. Startups at the seed or Series A stage are most open to first-time VPs who show strong strategic thinking and hands-on execution ability.
What does the vp product interview process look like?
Most vp product loops include a recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on leadership philosophy and past product bets, a live product case or teardown, and a cross-functional panel with engineering, design, and marketing peers. Final rounds typically involve a presentation to the CEO or CPO on a strategic product vision, followed by reference checks before an offer is extended.
Where can I find and apply to vp product jobs?
You can find and apply to vp product jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and experience, then apply directly to each one that fits.
