Business Account Executive Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business account executive in Michigan?
Most business account executive roles in Michigan require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications, though some employers in automotive and manufacturing accept equivalent professional experience. Michigan does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers typically look for a background in B2B sales or account management, familiarity with the state's dominant sectors such as automotive supply chain or healthcare, and demonstrated ability to manage client portfolios and close deals.
How much do business account executives make in Michigan?
Business account executives in Michigan earn a median of about $73,380 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $38,970 for the lowest 10% to over $135,720 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business account executives in Michigan?
Employers hiring business account executives in Michigan right now include T-Mobile, Comcast, and Verizon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's concentration of automotive headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and mid-market technology firms keeps demand for business account executives consistent across the lower peninsula throughout the year.
Which Michigan cities have the most business account executive jobs?
Livonia, Grand Rapids, and Ada have the most business account executive openings in Michigan. Detroit leads because of its density of corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and automotive suppliers, while Grand Rapids draws significant demand from its growing healthcare and manufacturing sectors, and Ann Arbor's technology and university-affiliated employer base generates consistent account management hiring.
Are there remote business account executive jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and they're more common than in many fields, since business account executive work centers on relationship management and sales activities that can often be handled by phone, video, and digital tools. About 50% of business account executive openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed client bases can be. Territory-based roles covering Michigan accounts are particularly well suited to remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a business account executive in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a sales development representative, inside sales coordinator, or account coordinator at one of Michigan's large employer groups and earning a promotion into an account executive role. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Penske, and mid-size Grand Rapids technology firms regularly hire for entry-level sales roles that ladder into account executive positions. Completing a business degree at a Michigan university, building familiarity with Salesforce, and pursuing any industry-specific certification relevant to automotive or healthcare strengthens a candidate's application significantly.
