INTRODUCTION
The Business Development Analyst, Latam focus, is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with Latam-focused Private Bankers as well as all product partners, to provide a high level of sales and product experience and support the banker in all aspects of marketing, prospecting, presentation preparations, reporting and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of bank products and regulatory requirements are required as well as excellent contact and communication skills.
- Conduct business development initiatives on a self-start basis for both CITI PRIVATE BANK and the IBD-CITI PRIVATE BANK partnership.
- Responsible for events management in partnership with the internal events management team.
- Managing, monitoring and reporting on budget/invoices pertaining to the small events programme.
- Responsible for marketing communication materials in partnership with global marketing and product marketing team. Monitoring effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
- Provision of support to private bankers for new business pitches as required.
- Develop network of contacts internally and externally for cultivation of business introductions.
- Work with client and Private Banker, On-boarding team, Associate Banker and Client Services team to facilitate account opening and completion of the mandatory documentation especially in KYC and AML.
- Capture and maintain client information.
- Assist in Client Relationship Management e.g. updating the pipeline, logging call reports.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in line with the policies of the CITI PRIVATE BANK.
- Monitor and adapt to changes in business processes and policies.
- Identify ways to streamline internal processes to make them more efficient.
- Maintain learning program through internal courses and external certifications.
- Prepare and coordinate Prospect presentations.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-8 years of experience.
- Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of all CITI PRIVATE BANK banking and products systems, platforms, tools and capabilities. Proactive, driven, good analytical skills.
- Project management skills: candidate must be highly organized and efficient; ability to effectively prioritize and adhere to daily time sensitive deadlines is critical.
- Certifications: Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) required to obtain within 150 days of assuming the role.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
