Business Development Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development in Kansas?
Most business development roles in Kansas require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, though there is no state-issued license specific to the role. Employers in Wichita and Overland Park commonly seek candidates who combine formal education with demonstrated sales or account management experience. Building familiarity with Kansas industries such as aviation manufacturing, agribusiness, or healthcare services strengthens a candidate's profile significantly.
Which companies hire business developments in Kansas?
Companies currently hiring business developments in Kansas include Shamrock Trading Corporation, TFL, and Koch, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's mix of aerospace, agriculture-linked enterprises, and regional healthcare systems creates steady demand for business development professionals with industry-specific knowledge.
Which Kansas cities have the most business development jobs?
The cities with the most business development openings in Kansas are Overland Park, Kansas City, and Lenexa. Overland Park and Kansas City lead because of their dense concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and technology companies, while Wichita generates consistent openings through its aerospace manufacturing base and growing healthcare sector.
Are there remote business development jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields, because business development work is primarily relationship-driven and communication-based rather than tied to a physical site. About 48% of business development openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how widely companies in the state have adopted flexible arrangements. Partnership development and inside sales strategy roles are the most commonly offered in fully remote formats.
How can I get hired as a business development in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales or sales development representative role, which Kansas employers in Overland Park's technology corridor and Wichita's industrial sector use as training grounds for future business development hires. Companies like Garmin and regional healthcare systems often post associate-level commercial roles that require no prior experience beyond a bachelor's degree. Building a portfolio of cold outreach examples or completing a recognized sales certification strengthens an application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to business development jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to business development jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings. Search the roles that match your experience and target industry, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background and career goals.
