Business Development Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development in Pennsylvania?
Most business development roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related discipline, and the role carries no state-issued license or mandatory certification. Employers typically look for candidates who have held quota-carrying or client-facing roles first, often in sales, account management, or marketing. Relevant credentials like a Certified Business Development Professional designation can strengthen a candidacy, particularly at larger Philadelphia or Pittsburgh-based firms.
Which companies hire business developments in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring business developments in Pennsylvania right now include Skilled Wound Care, J&J Gaming, and Preston Toyota, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's high concentration of financial services, health systems, and enterprise technology companies means demand tends to be consistent across industries rather than tied to a single sector.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most business development jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania account for the most business development openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its headquarters density in financial services, insurance, and healthcare, while Pittsburgh draws openings from technology and energy companies, and suburban markets like King of Prussia and Wayne add volume from regional corporate campuses anchored by employers in consulting and life sciences.
Are there remote business development jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 56% of business development openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on calls, digital outreach, and virtual presentations rather than on-site work. Fully remote arrangements are most common in software, fintech, and SaaS-adjacent roles where the client base is national.
How can I get hired as a business development in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development representative or inside sales associate role, which large Pennsylvania employers in technology and financial services regularly post as entry-level positions open to recent graduates. Companies with major Pennsylvania operations frequently run rotational commercial programs or structured new-hire cohorts that train candidates without direct business development experience. A strong internship in sales, marketing, or account management at a Philadelphia or Pittsburgh firm, combined with a relevant bachelor's degree, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying.
Where can I find and apply to business development jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to business development jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
