Commercial Director Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial director in Florida?
Most commercial directors in Florida reach the role by advancing through sales management, business development, or commercial operations in their industry. Florida does not require a state-issued license specifically for commercial directors, but roles in regulated sectors such as real estate or insurance may require an active Florida license issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field and demonstrated P&L responsibility are the most common hiring criteria.
Which companies hire commercial directors in Florida?
Employers hiring commercial directors in Florida right now include CVS Health, Libertas Funding, and The Baldwin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's mix of large defense contractors, healthcare systems, real estate developers, and hospitality groups creates consistent year-round demand for commercial director talent.
Which Florida cities have the most commercial director jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Tallahassee have the most commercial director openings in Florida, driven by the concentration of corporate headquarters, regional offices, and large anchor employers in those metros. Miami's international trade and finance sector, Orlando's hospitality and healthcare footprint, and Tampa's growing tech and professional services base account for the majority of postings.
Are there remote commercial director jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical roles, since commercial directors typically need close contact with clients, sales teams, and operations. About 56% of commercial director openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a market where in-person leadership presence is still valued. Strategic planning, forecasting, and contract review responsibilities tend to be the most remote-compatible parts of the role.
How can I get hired as a commercial director in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a commercial director role from an adjacent position such as regional sales manager, business development manager, or commercial operations lead. Large Florida employers in healthcare and defense, including AdventHealth and major aerospace contractors, run structured leadership development programs that promote from within. Building a record of revenue ownership and team leadership in a Florida-based organization, combined with a relevant credential such as a Florida real estate license if entering that sector, strengthens any application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to commercial director jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to commercial director jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings by city or specialty to identify roles that match your background, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
