Tailor your resume to Broadcom's stack
Broadcom's DevOps postings consistently surface tools like Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, and VMware-based infrastructure. Aligning your resume to these specifics signals direct fit and reduces friction during technical screening, which matters when sponsorship is on the table.
Clarify your visa status upfront
When applying, state your current status and authorization type in your cover note or application portal. Broadcom's recruiting teams handle a range of sponsorship scenarios, and being direct about whether you need H-1B transfer, OPT, or CPT saves both sides time.
Time your application around H-1B cap deadlines
If you're pursuing a new H-1B, USCIS registration opens each March for an October 1 start. Broadcom sponsors H-1B petitions, so targeting a role offer by February gives your hiring team enough runway to prepare the registration before the window closes.
Understand what PERM means for your timeline
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, Broadcom must first complete DOL's PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. This process can take a year or more, so initiating conversations about long-term sponsorship intentions early in the offer stage is practical.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Broadcom posts DevOps roles across multiple divisions and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions where your visa type is sponsored, so you're not spending time pursuing roles that won't support your situation.
Prepare for technical rounds with infrastructure depth
Broadcom's DevOps interviews go beyond CI/CD pipelines. Expect questions on network security, large-scale deployment orchestration, and observability tooling. Strong performance here directly influences whether a hiring manager pushes for sponsorship approval internally.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Broadcom sponsor H-1B visas for DevOps roles?
Yes, Broadcom sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps positions. The company has an active sponsorship practice across its technology divisions, including infrastructure and platform engineering roles that fall squarely within DevOps. If you're on OPT or require an H-1B transfer from another employer, Broadcom's recruiting team handles both scenarios.
How do I apply for DevOps jobs at Broadcom?
You can find and apply for DevOps positions at Broadcom through their careers portal or by browsing open roles on Migrate Mate, which filters listings specifically for visa-sponsored positions. When applying, clearly indicate your work authorization status. Broadcom's process typically includes an initial recruiter screen, a technical assessment, and multiple interview rounds focused on infrastructure and automation depth.
Which visa types does Broadcom commonly sponsor for DevOps professionals?
Broadcom sponsors H-1B, TN visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for DevOps roles, along with Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term hires. TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying specialty occupations. The right pathway depends on your nationality, current status, and where you are in your career stage.
What qualifications does Broadcom expect for sponsored DevOps positions?
Broadcom's DevOps roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, which also satisfies H-1B specialty occupation requirements. Practically, hiring managers look for hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code tooling, and production incident response. Senior roles add expectations around architecture and cross-team platform ownership.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take if I receive a Broadcom DevOps offer?
For an H-1B cap-subject case, the timeline from offer to work authorization start is tied to USCIS's annual cycle, with employment beginning no earlier than October 1 following a successful lottery selection in March. Premium processing can accelerate the USCIS adjudication step to roughly 15 business days once filed. OPT transfers and TN approvals move faster. Build these timelines into your offer negotiation early.
