Align your portfolio to DoorDash's verticals
DoorDash hires Marketing Managers across merchant growth, consumer acquisition, and Wolt international. Frame your portfolio around the vertical you're targeting. A background in marketplace or two-sided platform marketing reads stronger than general brand work.
Clarify your visa category before applying
DoorDash sponsors multiple visa types including H-1B, E-3, TN, and H-1B1 visa. Knowing which category fits your nationality before outreach lets you answer recruiter questions on the first call instead of stalling the process.
Time applications around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens the registration window in March for an October 1 start date. Align your DoorDash application timeline so an offer can realistically land before the registration deadline closes.
Search DoorDash roles filtered by sponsorship on Migrate Mate
DoorDash posts Marketing Manager roles across multiple teams and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for DoorDash openings that have confirmed visa sponsorship history, so you're not guessing which postings are relevant to your situation.
Request LCA details before accepting an offer
Once DoorDash extends an offer, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask HR which wage level they intend to certify so you can confirm it reflects your seniority and scope.
Prepare a specialty occupation justification for your role
USCIS scrutinizes marketing roles for specialty occupation status. Document how your position requires a specific bachelor's degree field, such as marketing, economics, or statistics, rather than any general degree. A weak nexus between degree and role is the most common RFE trigger for Marketing Managers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Marketing Managers?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Marketing Manager roles. Because marketing positions can attract USCIS scrutiny under specialty occupation standards, your petition should clearly establish that the role requires a specific degree field, such as marketing, economics, or data analytics, rather than a general bachelor's degree. Working with an immigration attorney once you have an offer significantly reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly sponsor for Marketing Managers?
DoorDash sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, TN visa, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas. E-3 visa is available only to Australian citizens and involves no lottery. TN visa applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. If you're on F-1 OPT, DoorDash can employ you immediately while an H-1B petition is prepared for the following cap season.
How do I apply for Marketing Manager jobs at DoorDash?
You can browse open Marketing Manager roles directly on DoorDash's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter DoorDash postings by visa sponsorship type and role. Tailor your application to the specific team, whether that's merchant growth, consumer, or international expansion. DoorDash's marketing interview process typically includes a case study or marketing strategy presentation, so prepare a structured framework for evaluating channel prioritization and growth problems.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Marketing Manager roles?
Most Marketing Manager roles at DoorDash expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or a related analytical field, along with several years of experience in growth, brand, or product marketing. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree field needs a clear connection to the role's responsibilities. Candidates with experience in marketplace businesses, consumer apps, or two-sided platform marketing tend to be competitive given DoorDash's core product.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at DoorDash?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March each year, with a lottery conducted shortly after. If selected, the earliest work start date is October 1. To hit that window, aim to have your offer finalized and paperwork initiated by February. If you're on F-1 OPT with a STEM extension, you can start working sooner while the H-1B petition is filed as a cap-gap bridge, giving you more flexibility on the offer timing.
