Frame your credentials around Google's technical bar
Google expects Program Analysts to demonstrate quantitative rigor. Before applying, translate your experience into metrics-driven outcomes. Analysts who show data modeling, SQL proficiency, or cross-functional program ownership get further in hiring screens.
Target teams with recurring Program Analyst headcount
Google's Ads, Cloud, and People Operations teams consistently post Program Analyst roles. Filtering by team when browsing job listings helps you identify where sponsorship demand is most active and where your background fits the work.
Distinguish your visa category before the offer stage
Google sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role. If you're Australian or a Chilean or Singaporean national, clarify your eligibility early. H-1B1 and E-3 petitions skip the lottery, which affects your start date and Google's filing timeline.
Verify your OPT or grace period timing against Google's hiring cycle
Google's onboarding cycles often align with quarterly starts. If you're on F-1 OPT with a STEM extension, confirm your remaining authorized work period covers Google's expected start date and any USCIS processing buffer before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Program Analyst roles at Google
Finding which Google teams are actively hiring and sponsoring isn't straightforward from general job boards. Migrate Mate filters Program Analyst openings by visa type, so you can focus applications on verified sponsorship-eligible positions at Google.
Prepare for Google's LCA-linked offer documentation
Google's legal team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can move forward. Know what prevailing wage level your role is likely classified under, since that determination directly affects your offered salary and petition timing.

Find Program Analyst at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Program Analysts?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Program Analyst roles. Google also supports H-1B1 sponsorship for eligible Chilean and Singaporean nationals, and E-3 sponsorship for Australian citizens. The H-1B requires entry in USCIS's annual lottery, while H-1B1 and E-3 petitions are filed directly without a lottery, giving those nationalities a more predictable path to starting work.
How do I apply for Program Analyst jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com. Search for 'Program Analyst' and filter by location and team. Tailor your resume to reflect analytical tools, project scope, and cross-functional collaboration. If you need visa sponsorship, indicate that clearly when prompted. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings through Migrate Mate before applying directly through Google's portal.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Program Analyst roles?
Google primarily uses the H-1B for Program Analysts, which covers most nationalities but requires selection in USCIS's annual lottery. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, and Chilean or Singaporean nationals can use the H-1B1. Both alternatives bypass the lottery entirely and allow Google to file petitions year-round, making them faster options when available.
What qualifications does Google expect for Program Analyst roles?
Google typically looks for a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field, such as economics, computer science, statistics, or engineering. Practical experience with data analysis, SQL, and program management frameworks strengthens your application. Familiarity with Google's internal tools or product ecosystem is a differentiator, and candidates who can demonstrate impact through measurable outcomes tend to advance further in the hiring process.
How do I understand the timeline for Google to file my visa petition?
For H-1B petitions, USCIS opens registration each March, with cap-subject petitions taking effect October 1 at the earliest. Google typically initiates the LCA filing with the DOL several weeks before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. For E-3 and H-1B1 petitions, Google can file outside the annual cap cycle, which shortens the overall timeline to a few months from offer acceptance to visa approval.
