Align your credentials to healthcare cloud standards
Humana operates under strict HIPAA and healthcare data compliance requirements. Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP combined with hands-on experience in regulated or enterprise environments make your profile significantly more competitive than a general cloud background.
Target roles matching your current visa status
Humana sponsors multiple visa types, so filter your applications to roles where your status fits the filing timeline. F-1 OPT candidates should apply early enough to allow CPT or OPT authorization to align with a start date before their 60-day grace period closes.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Cloud Engineer openings
Humana posts Cloud Engineer roles across multiple platforms, but not all listings flag sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate filters specifically for sponsored roles, so you're not wasting applications on positions that won't support your visa.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
Once Humana extends an offer for an H-1B role, the employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Having your job description, worksite details, and prevailing wage documentation ready speeds that stage considerably.
Ask directly about TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Cloud Engineer roles at Humana can qualify under the TN visa category for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the position maps to a qualifying USMCA occupation. Confirm the specific job title and duties with the hiring team before assuming TN applies to your offer.
Highlight enterprise migration projects in your application
Humana has consistently invested in cloud platform modernization across its healthcare operations. Applications that show measurable impact on large-scale cloud migrations, infrastructure automation, or multi-cloud architecture directly address the work this team is hiring to accomplish.

Find Cloud Engineer at Humana JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for Cloud Engineers?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for Cloud Engineer roles. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for technical positions, including cloud infrastructure and platform engineering functions. Because H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, timing your application relative to Humana's hiring cycle matters. Roles with a fiscal year start date of October 1 require your petition to be filed in April, so aligning your offer timeline with that window is practical.
How do I apply for Cloud Engineer jobs at Humana?
Applications go through Humana's careers portal at careers.humana.com. Search for Cloud Engineer or related titles such as Cloud Platform Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer. Before applying, verify the listing mentions visa sponsorship or confirm with the recruiter, since not every posting explicitly states sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate is a reliable way to browse Humana Cloud Engineer openings that are confirmed to support visa sponsorship, saving you the screening step.
Which visa types does Humana commonly use for Cloud Engineer roles?
Humana sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for technical roles. For Cloud Engineers, H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant route. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role qualifies under USMCA. F-1 OPT and CPT are practical entry points for students, with STEM OPT extension allowing up to three years of work authorization before a full H-1B sponsorship cycle begins.
What qualifications does Humana expect for Cloud Engineer roles?
Humana typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering field for Cloud Engineer positions. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is expected, along with familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible. Because Humana operates in healthcare, experience with HIPAA-compliant architectures, security frameworks, or regulated cloud environments significantly strengthens an application compared to candidates without that domain context.
How do I think about timing if I'm waiting on H-1B lottery results?
H-1B registration opens in March, with lottery results typically released in late March or April. If selected, your employer files the full petition before April 30, and employment begins October 1 at the earliest. If you're on OPT when you apply at Humana, confirm your OPT expiration date allows you to bridge to the October 1 cap-gap period. USCIS's cap-gap rule automatically extends F-1 status for timely filed petitions, but your recruiter and immigration counsel should confirm the specifics for your situation.
