- You will actively identify opportunities and resolve dependencies by creating shared strategies across teams in adjacent product areas.
- You will develop reusable product frameworks, playbooks, and best practices that accelerate AI solution delivery across the organization.
- You will influence strategy and progress across partner teams, enhancing collaboration and resolving divergent goals.
- You will communicate product strategy, progress, and business value with radical clarity to all stakeholders.
- You will support the growth of PMs and cross-functional team members by providing mentorship, coaching, and hands-on guidance.

Align your portfolio to health tech products
Humana's engineering teams build consumer-facing health platforms, claims systems, and member portals. Frame your portfolio around product-focused work, not pure backend infrastructure, to match how their hiring managers evaluate software engineers.
Target roles flagged for OPT and CPT
Humana's product engineering openings frequently appear in health technology divisions that actively recruit F-1 candidates. Filter your search by those business units and verify the role explicitly lists work authorization support before applying.
Use Migrate Mate to surface visa-friendly openings
Not every Humana job posting clearly signals sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to filter Product Software Engineer roles at Humana by the visa types you hold, so you're only spending time on positions that match your authorization status.
Clarify H-1B cap timing early in interviews
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, Humana must file your petition during the April lottery window for an October 1 start. Raise this timeline in the offer stage so your recruiter can coordinate with their immigration counsel before an offer is extended.
Get your educational credentials evaluated before applying
Humana's product engineering roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. If your degree is from outside the U.S., have a NACES-member evaluation agency assess equivalency before your application reaches a recruiter.
Understand PERM timing if you're targeting a Green Card
Humana sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification adds 12 to 24 months before USCIS even begins adjudicating your immigrant petition. Ask your recruiter directly whether long-term sponsorship is available for the specific role you're interviewing for.
Product Software Engineer at Humana jobs are hiring across the US. Find yours.
Find Product Software Engineer at Humana JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers. Because most roles are cap-subject, your petition must be filed in April through the USCIS lottery for an October 1 start date. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Humana can file an H-1B transfer and you can start working once USCIS issues a receipt notice.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Humana?
Applications go through Humana's careers site. Search for Product Software Engineer roles and filter by location or remote eligibility. Before applying, verify each posting supports your visa type, since not every opening includes sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you browse Humana's current Product Software Engineer openings filtered by the visa categories Humana actively supports, which saves time screening postings manually.
Which visa types does Humana commonly sponsor for Product Software Engineer roles?
Humana sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Product Software Engineers. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering directly from university programs. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying software roles. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is available but typically requires time in role first.
What qualifications does Humana expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Humana's Product Software Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, along with hands-on experience building consumer-facing digital products. Familiarity with agile development, cloud platforms, and API design appears consistently across job postings. For senior-level openings, demonstrated experience owning product features end-to-end carries significant weight in the evaluation process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving a Humana offer?
Timeline depends on your visa type. An H-1B transfer for an existing H-1B holder can allow you to start within two to three weeks of USCIS receiving the petition. A cap-subject H-1B requires filing in April with an October 1 start, meaning a gap of up to six months. TN processing at the border or port of entry is typically same-day. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 involves PERM labor certification and USCIS adjudication, which together can span several years.
