Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for manufacturing roles hinges on whether the position requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Process engineering, quality systems, and materials science roles at Mohawk are stronger fits than general production supervisor titles.
Target Mohawk's engineering and operations pipeline
Mohawk hires manufacturing talent across flooring, carpet, and hard surface production lines. Roles tied to process improvement, industrial engineering, or manufacturing technology align most directly with the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
Verify your OPT STEM extension eligibility early
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm whether your degree qualifies for the 24-month STEM extension before accepting an offer. Mohawk's manufacturing roles in engineering functions often qualify, but your degree field and job duties both need to meet the DOL STEM designation criteria.
Understand the LCA wage level before negotiating salary
Before your offer is finalized, Mohawk's HR team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your wage meets the prevailing rate for your role and worksite location. Knowing which wage level applies to your specific manufacturing title helps you negotiate from an informed position.
Use Migrate Mate to find open manufacturing roles at Mohawk
Searching for manufacturing positions at companies with active sponsorship histories can be time-consuming. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Mohawk Industries manufacturing jobs that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're only applying where a pathway already exists.
Prepare for PERM if your goal is a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship at manufacturing companies requires your employer to complete PERM labor certification with the DOL, documenting that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Start this conversation during or shortly after your H-1B approval, since PERM timelines often run 12 to 24 months.

Does Mohawk Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Mohawk Industries sponsors H-1B visas for manufacturing positions, particularly roles in process engineering, quality systems, and manufacturing technology where a specific bachelor's degree is required. Not every manufacturing title qualifies under the specialty occupation standard, so the fit between your degree field and the job duties matters. Roles with clearly defined technical requirements are the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Mohawk Industries?
You can apply directly through Mohawk Industries' careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to browse open manufacturing positions at Mohawk that are open to visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight technical qualifications relevant to flooring or hard surface manufacturing, since Mohawk's production operations span multiple product lines. Following up with the recruiting team about sponsorship availability early in the process saves time on both sides.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing roles at Mohawk Industries?
H-1B is the most common pathway for manufacturing roles that meet the specialty occupation standard. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for students and recent graduates entering production engineering or operations roles. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or scientific positions. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Mohawk has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Mohawk Industries expect for sponsored Manufacturing positions?
Sponsored manufacturing roles at Mohawk typically require a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience in production environments, process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma, and familiarity with large-scale manufacturing operations strengthen your application. Roles tied to flooring, textile, or hard surface production are most relevant given Mohawk's core business.
How do I know if the H-1B timeline fits Mohawk's hiring schedule?
The standard H-1B cap lottery runs in March for an October 1 start date, so offers extended in the first quarter of the year align well with this timeline. If you're already in the U.S. on OPT, your current work authorization can bridge the gap. For roles where the position is cap-exempt or the employer qualifies for an alternative pathway, USCIS processing outside the lottery window may also be possible.
