Frame your flooring industry knowledge early
Mohawk sells into retail, builder, and commercial channels. Before applying, map your sales experience to at least one of those verticals. Hiring managers for business development roles want industry-adjacent backgrounds, not just transferable skills.
Confirm your visa type fits business development
H-1B sponsorship for sales roles requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation. Business development titles at Mohawk typically require a degree in business, marketing, or a related field, so confirm your credentials align before USCIS scrutiny becomes a factor.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
If you need H-1B sponsorship from scratch, Mohawk must file in April for an October start date. Build your job search timeline backward from that window so you're interviewing in Q1 and have an offer before the registration deadline closes.
Highlight territory and account management credentials
Mohawk's sales development roles often cover defined geographic territories or key accounts in home improvement and commercial construction. Showing documented revenue outcomes, distributor relationships, or retailer co-selling experience makes your profile competitive before sponsorship conversations begin.
Ask specifically about internal transfer sponsorship pathways
Mohawk operates multiple brands and divisions. If you're already working in the U.S. for another employer, ask the recruiter whether Mohawk uses cap-exempt filings or prefers standard cap-subject H-1B petitions for lateral hires into sales functions.
Find open roles through Migrate Mate before outreach
Search Migrate Mate to identify current Sales Business Development openings at Mohawk Industries that are open to visa sponsorship. Apply directly through the listing, then follow up with the recruiter referencing the specific role and your sponsorship eligibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Mohawk Industries sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Mohawk Industries has sponsored H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. These positions typically need to qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, which generally means the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing, or a related discipline. Confirming that the specific job description meets that threshold is an important step before pursuing sponsorship.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Mohawk Industries?
You can browse open Sales Business Development positions at Mohawk Industries through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa sponsorship. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply directly on Mohawk's careers portal and be upfront about your sponsorship needs in your cover letter or during the initial recruiter screen. Mohawk's talent acquisition team handles sponsorship discussions internally.
Which visa types does Mohawk Industries commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Mohawk Industries has sponsored H-1B visas and supported F-1 OPT and CPT candidates for business development functions. For longer-term immigration, the company has also pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which go through a PERM labor certification process with the DOL. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals who qualify under the trade professionals category.
What qualifications does Mohawk Industries expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Mohawk typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with hands-on sales experience in consumer goods, flooring, or adjacent home products industries. Familiarity with retail, builder, or commercial distribution channels is a strong differentiator. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, your academic credentials must support the specialty occupation classification that USCIS requires.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Mohawk Industries in a Sales Business Development role?
If Mohawk sponsors an H-1B for you, the standard timeline runs from April filing to an October 1 start date, roughly a six-month window. F-1 OPT candidates can begin working sooner if authorization is already in place. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs separately and typically takes one to three years depending on your priority date and country of birth.
