Director/Sr. Director of Product Management In-Vehicle Networking Segment
Your Job
The Molex In-Vehicle Networking Segment develops next-generation physical and network connectivity solutions used by OEMs and Tier-1s to enable ADAS, infotainment, telematics, body-domain controllers, and high-bandwidth vehicle architectures. We deliver connector systems, twisted-pair and shielded cabling solutions, harness-level assemblies, and networking interfaces that meet automotive signal integrity, EMC, and production cost requirements.
We are seeking a senior product leader who combines strategic vision with a highly collaborative working style. In this role, you will serve as an active partner to engineering, sales, and OEM teams, contributing meaningfully to product strategy while maintaining close engagement with execution. The ideal candidate leads through influence, technical credibility, and a genuine commitment to the success of the team around them.
This role reports to the General Manager of Molex's In-Vehicle Networking Segment. Base compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience; total compensation includes variable bonus incentives. Title and level will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, scope of leadership, and demonstrated impact in product strategy and execution. Candidates may be considered at the Director or Sr. Director level depending on experience leading scaled product organizations and enterprise-level strategy.
This role is based in Rochester Hills, Michigan, with 10-15% global travel.
Why This Role Matters
- Own the product portfolio that makes connected, safe, and autonomous-capable vehicles possible at one of the world's leading automotive connectivity companies.
- Work at the intersection of hardware, system architecture, OEM programs, and supplier ecosystems to accelerate time-to-market for next-generation vehicle networks.
- High visibility with opportunities to influence company strategy, engage directly with global OEMs, and scale new product platforms.
- This role offers an opportunity to expand leadership scope, from leading product initiatives to shaping broader portfolio strategy, based on individual capability and impact.
- You will play a critical role in defining and launching the next generation of high-bandwidth in-vehicle networking platforms aligned to OEM and industry roadmaps.
- You'll lead a global product team who want a collaborative partner, someone who rolls up their sleeves and helps solve hard problems alongside them.
What You Will Do
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and own the long-term product strategy and portfolio roadmap for in-vehicle networking products aligned to market trends (Ethernet/BroadR-Reach, automotive PHYs, high-speed interconnects) and customer needs.
- Prioritize investments and tradeoffs across product performance, cost, manufacturability, and compliance.
Customer & OEM Engagement
- Be a genuine partner to key OEMs, Tier 1s, and strategic suppliers; translate OEM architectures and requirements into winning product solutions and program plans.
- Lead negotiation of technical approaches, timelines, and product specifications to secure program wins.
Product Lifecycle & Program Execution
- Stay actively engaged across the full product lifecycle from shaping requirements and challenging assumptions early, through development, validation, launch, and ramp. Support and collaborate with Project Management during project execution phases.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, signal integrity, mechanical, test & validation, manufacturing, and quality to meet program milestones and volume ramp targets.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of product managers, business development managers, and technical product owners.
- Drive alignment across Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Regulatory to deliver commercial and technical success.
- Build, develop, and scale a high-performing product organization capable of supporting global OEM platforms and long-term portfolio growth.

- Maintain deep market and competitor knowledge; identify new market opportunities and product gaps.
- Define pricing strategies, margin objectives, and measurable success metrics for the product portfolio.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across global, matrixed organizations.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for customer and supplier engagements up to 10 to 15% of time.

- Deep knowledge of in-vehicle networking technologies (automotive Ethernet, BroadR Reach, CAN/CAN FD, MOST, diagnostics/telematics) and familiarity with PHY/interface constraints.
- Background in connector systems, cable harnesses, or manufacturing/process engineering for automotive applications.
- Experience launching products for ADAS, domain controllers, or high-bandwidth vehicle architectures.

Align your portfolio to Molex's product scope
Molex operates across connectivity and electronic components, not traditional apparel. Frame your Product Architect experience around systems integration, lifecycle ownership, and cross-functional roadmaps so your credentials map directly to what their hiring teams evaluate.
Confirm your visa category before applying
Molex sponsors multiple visa types for this role. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period is unforgiving. Know which category your background qualifies for before your first recruiter screen so you can answer sponsorship questions confidently.
Target open requisitions with active LCA filings
Search DOL's FLAG portal for Molex LCA certifications under Product Architect or equivalent job titles. Active certifications signal that a specific business unit already has budget and legal approval in motion, not just a pipeline role.
Get ahead of the H-1B cap timeline
If your path requires a new H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Raise this with your Molex recruiter early. Delaying that conversation until offer stage can cost you an entire fiscal year.
Use Migrate Mate to filter live Product Architect openings
Search Migrate Mate to surface Molex Product Architect roles filtered by visa sponsorship type. This narrows your applications to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, rather than discovering it's unavailable after multiple interview rounds.
Prepare documentation before the offer is issued
Have your degree transcripts, any credential evaluations for foreign degrees, and employment history ready before an offer arrives. Molex's immigration counsel will need these quickly once a role is approved for sponsorship filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Molex sponsor H-1B visas for Product Architects?
Yes, Molex sponsors H-1B visas for Product Architect roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the degree requirements in engineering, systems design, or a related technical field. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing matters significantly. Raise sponsorship early in the process so your recruiter can loop in immigration counsel before an offer is finalized.
How do I apply for Product Architect jobs at Molex?
Apply directly through Molex's careers portal or find open Product Architect roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to emphasize product lifecycle ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and systems architecture experience. If you need sponsorship, state your visa status clearly in early recruiter conversations rather than waiting until the offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for Product Architect roles at Molex?
Molex supports several visa pathways for Product Architects, including H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or technical roles), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and longer-term permanent residence routes through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Molex expect for a Product Architect role?
Molex typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, the degree must align with the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies. Practical experience in product roadmapping, component systems, and working across hardware and software teams strengthens both your candidacy and the sponsorship petition.
How do I think about the timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Molex?
Timeline varies by visa type. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry in days. H-1B standard processing runs three to five months, with premium processing available for faster adjudication. If your role requires PERM labor certification for a Green Card, that process runs 12 to 24 months before the I-140 petition is even filed. Build these windows into your job search planning before you receive an offer.
