INTRODUCTION
Brady Corporation is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist. The Trade Compliance Specialist is a key contributor to the Trade Compliance team. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory requirements are met, risk exposure is minimized, and operations run efficiently in an evolving global trade landscape, including in response to changing tariffs and geopolitical developments.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ECCN classifications for products.
- Manage country of origin determination.
- Maintain accurate records to support preferential trade programs and duty drawback.
- Resolve customs holds, border delays, and supply chain disruptions related to trade issues.
- Oversee day to day trade operations, including customs entries.
- Partner with brokers, freight forwarders, to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods.
- Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in import and export operations.
- 3+ plus years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or similar fields.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and effective at multitasking.
- Drive, determination, and a self-starter to achieve results.
- Strong Microsoft office skills.
- In depth knowledge of harmonized tariff classification, ECCN determination and country of origin rules, preferred.
- Proficiency with SAP ERP system, preferred.
- A Certified Classification Specialist Certificate (CCLS), preferred.
