Contracts Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a contracts manager in Florida?
Most Florida employers require a bachelor's degree in business, law, supply chain, or a related field as the foundation. Florida does not issue a state license specifically for contracts managers, but certification through the National Contract Management Association, such as the Certified Professional Contracts Manager designation, is widely recognized and often listed as preferred in Florida postings. Candidates targeting aerospace, defense, or government work in Florida gain a strong edge by studying the Federal Acquisition Regulation early in their career.
Which companies hire contracts managers in Florida?
Employers hiring contracts managers in Florida right now include BLOSSOM, Hatalom, and L3Harris, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of defense contractors around Orlando and the Space Coast, large healthcare systems in Tampa and Miami, and active residential and commercial construction statewide means contracting roles turn over with consistent frequency across all three sectors.
Which Florida cities have the most contracts manager jobs?
Tallahassee, Miami, and Tampa have the most contracts manager openings in Florida. Orlando and the surrounding Space Coast corridor drive volume through aerospace primes and federal agencies, Tampa concentrates healthcare and financial services contracting, and Miami adds real estate, construction, and international trade agreements, which together explain why postings cluster in these metros rather than spreading evenly across the state.
Are there remote contracts manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields, since contracts work is largely document-driven and does not require a physical presence on a job site. About 43% of contracts manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. Contract review, negotiation support, and compliance work are the functions most frequently offered on a remote or hybrid basis by Florida employers.
How can I get hired as a contracts manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a contracts administrator or procurement coordinator, roles that Florida defense primes such as Lockheed Martin and L3Harris and large healthcare systems like AdventHealth actively hire at the associate level. Earning the NCMA's Certified Commercial Contracts Manager credential before applying demonstrates baseline knowledge and separates candidates without deep experience. A Florida State University or University of Florida supply chain or business degree, combined with an internship in a procurement or legal department, is the combination Florida hiring managers mention most often for new entrants.
Where can I find and apply to contracts manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to contracts manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries including defense, construction, and healthcare. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly from the listings on this page.
