Corporate Accountant Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate accountant in Arizona?
A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is the baseline for corporate accountant roles in Arizona. Most employers expect candidates to hold or be actively pursuing a CPA license, which in Arizona is issued by the Arizona State Board of Accountancy. The Board requires completing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting the education and experience thresholds before licensure. Some employers accept candidates without a CPA if they have substantial corporate finance experience.
How much do corporate accountants make in Arizona?
Corporate accountants in Arizona earn a median of about $79,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $55,430 for the lowest 10% to over $128,890 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate accountants in Arizona?
Employers hiring corporate accountants in Arizona right now include Cove Communities, Cogir Senior Living, and Progress Residential, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's mix of major healthcare systems, mining and energy companies, and corporate regional headquarters creates consistent demand for accountants across multiple industries throughout the year.
Which Arizona cities have the most corporate accountant jobs?
Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tucson account for the largest share of corporate accountant openings in Arizona. Phoenix drives the bulk of demand as the state's financial and corporate hub, with Scottsdale home to a dense cluster of regional headquarters and professional services firms, while Tempe's growing technology and financial services employers add a meaningful share of postings across the metro.
Are there remote corporate accountant jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than most fields. Corporate accounting is desk-based and analytical, which makes it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 100% of corporate accountant openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely employers have adopted flexible work for finance roles. Financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger work are the functions most commonly offered with remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a corporate accountant in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for staff accountant or accounting associate roles at Arizona-based employers such as Banner Health, Arizona Public Service, or large regional public accounting firms that rotate staff into corporate clients. These organizations run structured new-graduate programs that funnel early-career candidates into core accounting functions. A completed or in-progress CPA Exam gives applicants a measurable edge, and lateral moves from accounts payable, accounts receivable, or financial analyst positions at the same employer are a common route into a corporate accountant title.
