Most New Jersey employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, strategy, marketing, or a related field, with an MBA increasingly standard at larger firms like those anchored in the Princeton Corridor or along the Hudson waterfront. Candidates typically move up through associate, manager, and senior manager roles in strategy, business development, or corporate planning before reaching director level.
How much do director strategic growths make in New Jersey?
Director strategic growths in New Jersey earn a median of about $180,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $126,760 for the lowest 10% to over $298,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director strategic growths in New Jersey?
Employers hiring director strategic growths in New Jersey right now include Darkroom, Deloitte, and Standard Forge, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, financial services firms, and technology services companies makes it one of the more consistent states for senior growth strategy hiring outside of New York City.
Which New Jersey cities have the most director strategic growth jobs?
Princeton, New Jersey, and Florham Park are the New Jersey cities with the most director strategic growth openings. Newark and Jersey City draw volume from financial services and tech firms with proximity to Manhattan clients, while Princeton attracts openings tied to pharmaceutical and life sciences headquarters that run large in-house strategy functions.
Are there remote director strategic growth jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields, given that the role centers on analysis, stakeholder communication, and planning work that translates well to distributed environments. About 100% of director strategic growth openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader corporate flexibility at the director level. Strategy development, competitive analysis, and partnership negotiations are the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a director strategic growth in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development associate or corporate strategy analyst role at a large New Jersey employer, then building toward management. Life sciences companies along the Route 1 corridor and financial services firms in Jersey City regularly hire junior strategy professionals into rotational or analyst programs that feed senior pipelines. Adjacent roles in product management, management consulting, or marketing analytics are common lateral moves. Earning an MBA from a Rutgers, Seton Hall, or similar regional program gives candidates a recognized credential that New Jersey employers actively recruit from.
