Territory Sales Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales manager in New Jersey?
Most territory sales manager roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree, typically in business, marketing, or a field aligned with the industry you're targeting, such as life sciences for pharmaceutical sales. New Jersey does not require a general state sales license for this role, but candidates pursuing pharmaceutical or medical device sales benefit from completing industry-recognized training programs. Starting as an account representative or sales associate at a New Jersey-based manufacturer or distributor is the most common path into territory management.
How much do territory sales managers make in New Jersey?
Territory sales managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $173,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,580 for the lowest 10% to over $308,630 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring territory sales managers in New Jersey right now include Azend Pharma, Advantage Solutions, and Leaf Home, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters and industrial distributors makes it one of the more consistent states for territory sales hiring throughout the year.
Which New Jersey cities have the most territory sales manager jobs?
Newark, New Jersey, and Ewing have the most territory sales manager openings in New Jersey. Newark anchors the market as the state's largest commercial hub, Princeton draws heavy pharmaceutical and biotech demand given its concentration of life sciences firms, and Parsippany supports a large volume of corporate offices for national manufacturers and distributors that assign Northeast territories from that base.
Are there remote territory sales manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but they're rare. Territory sales management is inherently field-based, requiring regular in-person client visits across an assigned geography. About 85% of territory sales manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and most of those involve inside sales support or account planning functions rather than full field territory responsibilities. Roles in pharmaceutical or medical device sales almost always require local travel.
How can I get hired as a territory sales manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or inside sales associate role at one of New Jersey's large pharmaceutical, medical device, or industrial distribution companies, where rotational or mentorship programs exist for candidates without field experience. Employers like those headquartered in the Princeton Corridor and Parsippany corridor regularly recruit new graduates into structured sales training tracks. A life sciences degree, a Certified Professional Sales Person credential, or documented internship sales activity gives candidates a measurable edge when applying without a territory management background.
Where can I find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to the positions that match.
