Ecommerce Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ecommerce in New York?
Most ecommerce roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, along with hands-on platform experience. No state-issued license is required, but New York employers consistently prioritize candidates with verified proficiency in platforms like Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or Amazon Seller Central. Building a portfolio of campaign results, conversion metrics, or marketplace growth data is the strongest signal for hiring managers at New York consumer and retail brands.
Which companies hire ecommerces in New York?
Employers hiring ecommerces in New York right now include NBCUniversal, Canadian Imperial Bank Of Commerce, and Foot Locker, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of retail headquarters, direct-to-consumer brands, and media companies makes it one of the most consistently active hiring markets for ecommerce professionals in the country.
Which New York cities have the most ecommerce jobs?
New York, Melville, and Port Washington have the most ecommerce openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is home to the headquarters of major retailers, fashion houses, and consumer brands that have built large in-house digital commerce teams, while Buffalo and Albany attract openings from regional distributors, healthcare retailers, and state government adjacent digital initiatives.
Are there remote ecommerce jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 22% of ecommerce openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work is platform-based and data-driven rather than on-site. Roles in performance marketing, marketplace management, and ecommerce analytics are the most likely to offer fully remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a ecommerce in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a coordinator or associate role at a New York retail or consumer goods company, where you support marketplace operations, product data entry, or digital ad campaigns. Large New York employers like department store chains and direct-to-consumer brands regularly hire recent graduates into rotational or junior ecommerce programs. A portfolio showing a mock storefront build, a Google Analytics certification, or a freelance project demonstrating conversion improvement gives candidates without formal experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to ecommerce jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to ecommerce jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
