The Minnesota State Board of Accountancy oversees CPA licensure in the state. Candidates must pass the Uniform CPA Exam, complete education requirements, and fulfill supervised experience hours before the Board issues a license.
Which companies hire finance and accountings in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring finance and accountings in Minnesota include U.S. Bank, Optum, and cairo, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large health insurers, and regional banks means consistent demand for finance and accounting professionals across industries.
Which Minnesota cities have the most finance and accounting jobs?
Minneapolis, Alexandria, and Saint Paul have the most finance and accounting openings in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro drives the bulk of demand, anchored by the headquarters of major corporations, health systems, and financial institutions, while Rochester benefits from the administrative and financial operations of large healthcare employers concentrated there.

Yes, and more than most fields. About 83% of finance and accounting openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well analytical and reporting work translates to distributed teams. How can I get hired as a finance and accounting professional in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an accounting technician, accounts payable specialist, or junior financial analyst role, which large Minnesota employers like UnitedHealth Group, Ecolab, and regional credit unions regularly post for candidates without prior professional experience. A completed bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or active progress toward a CPA, strengthens any application. Community colleges such as Minneapolis Community and Technical College offer associate degrees in accounting that lead directly into entry-level roles at mid-size Minnesota companies.
