Finance Assistant Jobs in Wyoming: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance assistant in Wyoming?
Most finance assistant roles in Wyoming require at minimum an associate degree in accounting or business, though a bachelor's degree is preferred for positions in energy companies or state agencies. Wyoming does not require a state-issued license for finance assistants, but earning a nationally recognized credential such as the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers certification or the NACPB bookkeeping certificate significantly strengthens a candidacy. Hiring managers at Wyoming's larger employers in Cheyenne and Casper consistently favor candidates with hands-on software experience alongside their formal education.
Which companies hire finance assistants in Wyoming?
Employers hiring finance assistants in Wyoming right now include Ryder System, Humana, and Vistabeam, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Wyoming's energy sector, state government agencies, and regional healthcare systems are among the most consistent sources of finance assistant openings across the state.
Which Wyoming cities have the most finance assistant jobs?
Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Casper consistently post the most finance assistant openings in Wyoming. Cheyenne leads as the state capital and home to major government agencies and insurance employers, Casper drives volume through its energy industry and regional medical center, and Gillette generates demand from coal and natural gas operations that require dedicated financial support staff.
Are there remote finance assistant jobs in Wyoming?
Yes, and finance assistant work is reasonably well-suited to remote arrangements given its desk-based and analytical nature. About 50% of finance assistant openings tied to Wyoming are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting growing flexibility among energy companies and state contractors. Tasks like accounts payable processing, payroll data entry, and reconciliation are the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a finance assistant in Wyoming with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for accounts payable clerk or administrative bookkeeping roles at Wyoming's larger public sector employers and healthcare institutions, where structured onboarding makes up for limited prior experience. The State of Wyoming and Wyoming Medical Center in Casper both post entry-level finance support positions that accept candidates with an associate degree and no prior finance title. Moving laterally from an office administrator or payroll data entry role is another practical route. Completing an NACPB bookkeeping certificate before applying gives candidates a concrete credential that offsets a thin work history.
Where can I find and apply to finance assistant jobs in Wyoming?
You can find and apply to finance assistant jobs in Wyoming on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the listings, identify the roles that fit your background and location, and apply directly through each posting. No signup is required to see the available positions.
